Not only that, but if you look up Newt's information, you'll find that he won his first congressional election in 1978, and as such has been a career politician for the last thirty-three years (more if you count his earlier 2 failed campaigns,) complete with all the various perks and junkets that entails.

Newt may have started out as a college lecturer, but seeing as how there are now tons of professors out there who weren't even born when Newt collected his last non-political paycheck, you'd think that people might see through his whole "I'm one of you" shtick.
