No, saying someone "sucks" or "need to be fired" is unprofessional. Leave that for the blow hards on sports talk radio.

I'd prefer an announcer that explains situations, explains that a player is missing this or that skill, is overmatched here or there. Or a coach is using the running/passing game in the wrong situation here.

And, yes, you do hear that.

You won't hear "The Bears need to fire Martz during halftime durrrr hurrrr!" And I don't want to hear that.

There was a link on here about a month or so ago, about how MNF was trying to hype the Chiefs-Pats game. Jaworski basically took on the challenge of hyping the Chiefs side, knowing full well that they sucked out loud. And of course during the game he made a comment about how he really liked Tyler Palko, thought he had the stuff to make it in the NFL...and two plays later Palko threw a pick.

Other than that, Jaworski is a damn good analyst. Watch Edge NFL Matchup (if you can find it, I think Sundays at 8am), he and Merrill Hoge know their stuff.

Unfortunately it used to mean that they'd go off on random tangents and talk about the weather, local events, NFL news, or just riff on how useless the teams are. Now it's "we've got 4 seconds to kill let's see how many times we can say Tebow".

I love Jaws when he's breaking down tape. He's phenomenal. As an in-game analyst, he's worthless, because he gets caught up in the Gruden lovefest with every player on the field.

All good. I don't watch much MNF unless I have a rooting interest. I hate ESPN (for the most part) with a passion.

Gruden knows what all the hand signals and gestures the players do on the field mean. Not many broadcasters do. If you are a football player, Gruden loves you and gushes. I like the guy Mike Mayock on thursday nights nfl network games. He sounds like how John Clayton looks, but he is as smart about football too.
