No shiat. It's a farking commercial - that's over 20 years old. It was funny the first couple of times I saw it but probably only because I was stoned.

I suppose all the little kiddies might not have seen it, but fark them - they don't appreciate freedom or rock.

My girlfriend has this on vinyl. I couldn't believe it when I saw it mixed in with the rest of her records.

First the Doublemint Gum commercial and now this.

I guess I'm officially old now that the ads that were on TV when I was growing up are hilariously retro.

I threw a donut at the guy on the left once
Red Noize was his name IIRC and he was a DJ at a rock radio station in town
they promised breakfast for those who camped out for the Who tickets
well it was a crappy in a bag donut

The thing is: the fashions that were current back then (proto Grunge) would look as silly to the current generation:
there is the same amount of time between then and now as was between then and the 60s.

Then again: the hipsters have co-opted the 'grunge' look, so maybe it wouldn't look so dated.

Here's an amusing parody of it (new window).

In all honesty, it IS a pretty damn fine collection of music from that era.

Hey man, is that Indie Rock man?

I guess, whatever.

Well turn it up man!

I say, "Don't you know?"...You say, "You don't know"

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks...

They will see us waving from such great heights....

Yeah, doesn't really work.

Hey man, is that Freedom Rock?

No, man! It's just another cynical money grab by the major labels to squeeze a few more dollars out of otherwise unsaleable songs from days gone by without paying a damn penny to the artists!

Well turn it up, man!

Bought that one on CDs when it came out.

Still have it, although to be fair, I put it on my ipod and probably lost the actual CDs.

Lemme guess...that's your band, or your friend's band.
