So yeah... whether they did it or not, I can believe that weapons might exist that dose people with lethal radiation. It would be the ideal assassination mechanism. It's undetectable, and allows the assassin to make a leisurely getaway (or it can be triggered remotely). I'm surprised that heads of state and other important people don't have Geiger counters near their person at all times (or maybe they do?).
