A 29-year-old Lieutenant Colonel? WTF?

Sgt Otter: A 29-year-old Lieutenant Colonel? WTF?

Karl Trenker, 48, of Miramar, had arranged to sell an 18-inch gold necklace through the website Craigslist, the Sheriff's Office said. ...Don't shoot him, you'll only make him angry (new window)

It's been a long time since anyone make light bird at 29.

2011-12-28 10:43:57 PM
He's cute. A little outside of my age range, but cute.

Wow, that is pretty badass. Someone get that guy a Gran Torino.

From the comments: "I know Lt Col Trenker and he's 48. He's spent 29 years in the Marine Corps. He's an incredible man, a hero, and a dang fine Marine to have served with. Sir, so glad you are going to be alright. Oohrah Sir!!"

I guess you could say he is 29 in marine core soldier years.

And this is why you don't mess with the Marines.

Did it say he took his kids with him to some random jewelry sale and then fought the crooks? Dude, priorities.

2011-12-28 11:28:54 PM
Oh, TFA, you disappoint me.

Here I was, thinking he plugged the wounds with the fingers of the perps.

But the gold chain was so attractive!

And with the gun, they figured the odds were that they'd be successful!

He's surprised? He lives in Florida. Craigslist used to sell gold chains.. Agreed to exchange said chain at an apartment complex which looks to be inhabited by fine upstanding citizens, and then chased after them... Yeah... There really is no surprise here.. The odds were working against him.. I wouldn't agree to swap bibles sold on craigslist in Florida, let alone gold chains..

Here's a question for you, kids? Who picks a fight with a Marine?

Apparently it's black kids. Even the retards know they can't use their super strength to beat a Marine.

/answer used to be that nobody picked a fight with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children except the terrurists.

I looked at the pictures in the story of the victim and the perps, and have assumed that this thread will shortly turn into Freeper Lite with all the Farkers who like this kind of story.

And though this guy is as tough as nails, why would you go anywhere except a public place to sell something? I read places like gas stations or something are the better places for Craigslist sales, not some godforsaken apartment complex.

FTFY, moran :P And a Marine is a Marine, never a "soldier." Remember that and you'll avoid yourself an asswhooping someday.

Also, from TFA: "Officers responding to the shooting found 20-year-olds James Flournoy and Jeff Steele close to the scene. Both men remain in custody without bond and face attempted murder charges."
LOL Doesn't say they were involved, just nearby. And obviously guilty.

I'm sorry does 'badass' mean dumb as fark?

you went to an apartment complex to sell the jewelery?

how about you meet in front of the local police station to sell the jewelery?
are you farking retarded?

oh right, you're a Marine...

Wouldn't it be cool if we had a story where some white guy was robbing black guys?

I mean just once?

Yeah, I'll bet the Marine Corps dude described the perps as tall, strawberry-blondes with freckles.

But the racist cops arrested some innocent black guys anyway.

Well, that's why he joined the marine core instead of the air force. I mean, marine guys are tough and all, but not, you know, all that, um...

yeah.

No, I'm pretty sure you are wrong. It's "marine core," and they are most definitely soldiers. So marine core soldiers it is.

Jeez, people these days. Don't know anything.

Pretty much this. Florida is a gated community hellhole. Nice place to visit, but there's no reason imaginable to live there 24/7.

Tourist/super rich on the coast
Rich right along 1A
Poor 1A to the tracks
over the tracks it's pure ghetto
Then you go 25 miles and it's either swamp, orange orchards or ranch.

And the fact that it's one gigantic strip-mall.

We really should add "Craigslist" next to "Ohio" and "Waffle House" on the list of things that need their own tags.

Putting fingers in bulletholes is just a way to fark things up more. Just apply pressure on the wound and let the doctors do the invasive shiat.

And somehow they never post in the threads with white perps to declare that "oops, I thought they would be black, but I now see that I was wrong. My bad."

Here are some words for y'all racist turds to look up: "selective sampling" - "saliency" - "out-group bias" - "cognitive dissonance"

It shouldn't be hard to establish. A) Did they have the necklace or was it found nearby? B) Did they have a gun or was one found nearby? C) If either a gun or chain was found, were there fingerprints or DNA on it? D) Does either of them have gunshot residue on them? E) Does either of them have a cell that was used in setting up the meet?

If these are the right guys, they didn't have the opportunity to ditch the evidence or clean up themselves or the gun/necklace, so guilt should be easy to establish. If it wasn't them, a defense attorney will be able to note the lack of all the above and get the case thrown out or win an acquittal.

My guess is the cops will just ask the Marine Lt. Colonel, "Are these the guys that tried to murder the shiat out of you?" and he'll either say yes or no, and they'll go from there.

If they are innocent, I hope that they are acquitted.

But meanwhile the real perps (who obviously match a similar description) will be back on craigslist makin' deals.

I'm thinking that, after they shot the guy three times and he didn't go down, the cops found them by following the trail of brown lines and little puddles from the site of the shooting to where they were cowering in the bushes whimpering.
