Actually I wasn't.

Eating mushrooms on an empty stomach can have surprising effects. One of those surprises is that they can kick in full force less than 5 minutes after you take them. So hypothetically, you can eat them, take a short drive to get where you intend to ride it out, and before you realize it you are driving in cloud cuckoo land.

Hypothetically, of course.

Can you even run on mushrooms? It always seemed mushrooms made it so that going "far" took an incredibly long time, with all the distractions and whatnot. I know out-running the fuse on a bottle rocket is an impossibility when on mushrooms, that requires matrix-like action. I'm thinking he was standing in the road when cars drove by and he almost shuffled into them.
