"This is a very scripted funeral. They've expected this for the last several years," said Lee Chung Min, dean of the Graduate School of International Studies at Yonsei University in Seoul.

Is this supposed to be a criticism? Or at all insightful or noteworthy? Can't the same be said of Reagan's funeral? Not trying to compare the two in any way other than the fact that pretty much every nation is ready for a state funeral, should the need arise.

Um, subby, I think the proper pronunciation in North Korea is Rincoln Continental.

That's probably a newer car than you'll find in all of Cuba.

Have any of you actually tried to rent a car in Best Korea, it is worse than O'Hare around X-Mas.

To be honest though, both Kim and Reagan are the deified centers of a dangerous cult of personality. The comparison is appropriate.

maybe it wasn't scripted. maybe all those people think he is the supreme being who loves them and is the source of all that is good. maybe they were taught that stuff all their lives, as well as their parents and grandparents and don't know anything different.

Medical Toilet: To be honest though, both Kim and Reagan are the deified centers of a dangerous cult of personality. The comparison is appropriate.

To a point, but Kim took that to VERY new levels. I know plenty of Republicans who want Reagan back, but not so many that actually believe that he had supernatural powers. The cult of personality the Kims have going would make Mao or Stalin jealous.

Should have been an El Camino with four way independent hydraulics poppin' the whole way so the man could straight pimp right to the grave.

The difference is that Reagan also had/has a dangerous anti-cult of personality. The Anti-Reaganites are/were just as bad as the Reaganites, perhaps worse: Like the anti-Dubyaites, they considered him to be simultaneously an evil genius, and the stupidest leader in the World. Hell, SNL even made fun of that dichotomy.

The fact that you can/could make fun of Reagan without any fear of reprisals points up a major farkin' difference between the two. In other words, it's a major false equivalency you got there.

I bet he faked his death and will rise from the grave with a renewed vision for his country.

A black Buick is the status car in China, like a Mercedes or Lexus is here.
