Thank goodness it's only one more week till the GOP clowns and can take their circus acts on to New Hampshire.

God what a farking waste of money, people and TV time.

F*ck the Republicans.

Karma Curmudgeon: Frontal assaults? I thought Cain dropped out.

Cain handed the reins of his campaign to Gingrich in one of the most transparent displays I can think of in politics. The Caingrich campaign is one centered on building relationships with new coalitions - married women, for example, make up a big part of the likely voter bloc.

Frontal assaults? I though only Gingrich did that. To the wives of his staffers.

This is comical. I hope the Obama campaign is collecting these for the general election.. and leaving them in a lockbox. I figure it won't be long before they're useful.

/No, not what's said about the candidate that eventually runs against him, but what the candidate said about others.

It is a target-rich environment.

I bet Clarence Thomas never thought this would happen when he decided on Citizens United.

This is why we need Election/Campaign Reform.

There is no reason this kind of farce should have to happen every 4 years.

There isn't enough support for this crap this year. The Republicans have no ideas, and they're just wasting money.

How else would you read the First Amendment?

As plain English. If the expenditure of money was 'speech' the framers wouldn't have included a commerce clause.

I like Rick Perry's angle: "If Washington is the problem... why trust a congressman to fix it?"

Sure, Rick, they are all sorely deficient candidates, but a semi-functional "Governor" who would rather ask god for help to put out fires instead of, you know, paying firefighters isn't necessarily the best fix either.

I'm pretty sure I just read the headline as "Canadians turn negative..."

Wasn't his idea to turn the problem over to god?

Is anyone really surprised by this?

I love it how the health care mandate was the rallying call to get rid of Obama while most of the GOP front runners have supported the mandate before Obama did. How well is that going to work?

Yeah it's not even every 4 years, guy. It's every 2 years now thanks to midterms, and since both parties are constantly angling for re-election and attacking even the daily minutiae of political life, this is a constant, never-ending cycle. Online there are neverending attack ads. Soon it will be television until we are inundated by a 24/7 political election cycle at which point, hopefully, the populace will be so goddamn fed up with it that they demand immediate reform.

As an Iowan, I haven't seen as much advertising as I have feared. It is VERY tame compared to 2008. The only place I have trouble with obtrusive political ads is on YouTube.

What I did find amusing is that Gingrich doesn't have the money to run ads in Iowa? I am pretty sure Iowa has 5 television markets (correct me if I'm wrong there), and two of those 5 broadcast into other states. If you can't scrape together money to compete in 5 markets, then that campaign is a bigger joke than I thought. Nothing to say about his policies or his character, but judging by the way he manages his "campaign", I wouldn't let him run a car wash for me.

It's amazing to me that it would take something like you mention to come to that point.

We should already be outraged. The election season should be from August-November and it should be ILLEGAL to campaign while you're serving.

No dispute that Romney's campaign is much more organized. He definitely has some management chops. Almost as impressive as Obama in 2008. I'm sure Romney will have a fairly well organized campaign headquarters also when he gives his concession speech that is.

My favorite series so far has been Rick Perry's "legal immigrants are taking yer jerbs" followed up by some other schmuck with "Rick Perry is soft on immigration!"

Just have to hold out a couple more days...

No see, the ads will come during the commercial breaks in DWTS and piss people off who don't want to put up with that. Nevermind the occasional politician IN the damn show. Nevermind the politically motivated statements made by contestants, blah blah blah.

I'm sick of the popularity contest. I really hate that my country has become one giant high school and that all the "major players" show all the maturity and not a single ounce more of some member of a goddamn clique. I do my part by voting for people with ideas and not wedge-issue spouting retards, but educating the masses about the importance of their choice is insurmountable. Not just because of DTWS et al either but because until it hits someone in their comfort zone, they couldn't give a single good god damn about whatever is happening.

I could see that backfiring if it leads potential R voters to decide they don't want to vote for an Obama look-alike any more than they want to vote for Obama and consequently stay home, vote third party, or spoil their ballot.

Another reason I thank God I live in Seattle. Republicans are hardly going to bother with a west coast Blue state (Unless it's California. Maybe).
