I remember seeing Cheetah back when the place was called Noell's Ark. I think rescuing cats is hard, but this guy was rescuing primates and other animals. I'm glad to see that it has grown and improved over the years.

Yes, I heard the same.

I grew up having never seen Tarzan, and was throughly confused when I learned cheeta was the monkey and not the leopard seen in the commercials.

There were several chimps who played Cheetah. This is one of the originals, and one of the last..

Plus don't confuse Wesimuller with Ely. Of course Ely was more like Tarzan was supposed to be, except for Cheetah.

Wow,, I didn't know chimpanzees could live that long. It's a testament that he was able to rise from jungle dweller to movie star and not succumb to the peer pressure of the chimp stereotype and live that long. He's a credit to his species.

As an old fart, I'm qualified to say he was a hell of an actor. Everybody thought he was a monkey. He had a good long run. the only thing was, he got type-cast alot. But the time he was too old to work, they started making the Planet of the Apes movies, and he couldn't get in.
