I find it reprehensible what happens to Women in Israel. But let us not forget what happens to Muslim women in brutal countries like Saudi Arabia. They can be stoned to death for things as innocent as adultery, or rape. Now, I would never stone my wife death, or spit on her, if she committed adultery.

Stupidity tends to whither upon exposure to other ideas, and a lot of their young people would come back from service with new perspective, which, of course, is the whole point of the exemption.

Couldn't agree more. I was actually surprised when my Orthodox cousin said she got a religious exemption to military service, despite being totally pro-Israel and anti-Arab. Supporting Israel yet not wanting to be a part of defending it...yep, makes sense. Go ahead guys, keep thinking of ways to turn the rest of us off to our own heritage and making it difficult for us to defend Israel's existence.

Religion has a way of keeping people in child mode. They can't think critically for themselves. They believe in a children's fable about how the world was created, need to rely on a book to tell them how to be a good and moral person, and hold women responsible for the feelings and actions of men. You can believe in God and not be like this. You can definitely be spiritual and have a problem with religion as it exists today.

Imagine no religion. What a wonderful place this could be. Another strong leader is needed to get rid of it, and show people peace once again.
