Gangland Cream Pie 21?

I guess that's how the majority really get to the meat of the issues in caucus and don't let up until all the holes in a hot piece of legislation are filled.

I don't get this.

I read Fark and the whole Gawker family of sites at work plenty, but I keep any porn and otherwise shady activities to my home computers.

What is wrong with these people? Who is dumb enough to do this at work? Last I heard most govt. jobs have pretty strict IT policies and this would get them in pretty serious trouble.

also, if you can find out which porn stars are trending on capitol hill you can probably score bonus points for dressing up interns to look like favorite porn stars and use them as eye candy to get you into the front door. In fact, you probably could benefit from finding out who does wardrobe and makeup for porn production companies and hire them as consultants. the key is to get your eye candy in front of your target and push your message across.

sure it's low down dirty scuzzy tactics but we're talking about lobbying in the big time here. morality is for suckers when you play at that level.

I'll certainly feel more personally connected to my elected official if I know we both shot a wad to the same whack material.

"Dear Senator, while I'm disappointed of your support for SOPA, I was happy to hear we both share an interest in waxing our noodle to Faye Reagan..."

If actual pols wanted films or TV shows they'd just ring up studios and ask for copies.

This is low level staff young enough to be savvy enough to use the torrents.

And if it turned out to be an elected pol actually doing the downloading? PeteTownshend defence.

i think that the citizens of the USA should be very careful not to embarrass their leaders for their vices, lest the ultra-fundamentalists in the House use the embarrassment as an opportunity to oust the downloaders and secure their power more completely.

A public outcry against the vices of the elite is how Talibans gain control of countries.

I think this applies to "affairs": seems to me that democrats have scandalous straight affairs, while republicans have gay ones.

It already sounds like they do this. At least in the Office of Mineral Management, where the people whose job is to regulate the oil industry were instead having drunken coke-fueled orgies with oil industry 'lobbyists'.

Unless you're in congress/senate. Nobody monitors their computers because they have access to non-public information. There's probably a couple of child-porn rings being run in the House.

Put them on the Supreme Court to upheld the precedent established in Schoolgirls of Japan v. Rape Monster from the 7th Dimension. For those of you who don't know the case, the court ruled 7-2 that tentacle penetration is covered by the 1st Amendment as long as the penetratee was properly served notice of intention to tentacle rape through due process of the law.

1. Welcome to politics.

2. Yes we do, but we are too concerned with trivial shiat and cut people slack based on their having a party affiliation.

3. To provide order in society and/or to secure the power of those who happen to be ruling it.

Next time you see an up and coming candidate getting slammed from all sides with adds and news articles, remind yourself that all of that costs his opponents alot of money.
When you realize who is paying for that campaign, and how they get paid, its not surprising that a bunch of laws revolving around copyright and patent are being written in favor of the big guys. Also not surprising that those laws will be selectively enforced so as not to ensnare a high profile offender, like a politician or corporation, in its own web.

The people who get elected already have a to-do list that doesn't include any of the stuff they promised us.

Yes, most usenet users get it through a private host, one that only provides that kind of service.
