He's always on vacation. Only taking occasional breaks to do speeches on how brilliant he is, and act like a weasel in interviews.

tlchwi02: Vietnam is a great country to vacation in. don't see the issue

Communist government, utter lack of human rights, and villages where babies are stillborn horribly mutated because of some shiat we dumped on their countryside to keep the VC from eating. Other than that, yeah, it's pretty... my uncle said it was among the most beautiful places he had ever seen while over there in the Marines back in '68. I just don't think the aesthetic value would overcome the other issues for me.

If you think they are a land of mutant children who practice communism and have no civil rights, you might want to actually visit the place. Also, nothing against your Uncle, but i've found most americans from that generation are unable to give the country a fair shake. Not that i can blame them, it would be tough to take the defining fear of the boomer generation and let it go if you had been forced to fight there, or lived in fear of being sent for a large part of your formative years. We actually got a christmas card this year from one of my parents friends who had vacationed there (he just missed the draft) and he was honestly shocked and offended that the war was called the War of American Aggression in Vietnam. He wrote this whole bit about it, completely without any sense of irony that the people in a country we dropped munitions and poison all over to back a right wing dictator who lacked any local popular support might not be viewed from a positive, pro-american perspective by the people the bombs were falling on.

The government is pretty craptastic with its human rights record (of course), but the rest of your post is far off the mark.

The first time I visited was because I felt I should visit as an American, as it is such a big part of our history. It's beautiful, the people often seem to go out of their way to be welcoming to Americans (with the customary 3rd world scams to avoid, but not as bad as Thailand). Of course they want our money, but I was impressed by their ability to forgive (it is a very young country, which helps).

That country has a lot of potential, but I could see it going the direction of an unholy Thailand/China combination.

I can feel my blood pressure lowering just by viewing your photo's, I was going to go to Vietnam this Dec. but couldn't swing it, but was also only going to do the Saigon and across to Angkor Wat, wasn't even planing on going north.

Kanemano: Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat is incredible, although if you're in the states it probably doesn't have enough to do to justify an entire trip on its own (spent 3 days there, felt like i'd gotten my monies worth) unless you are of course very well versed in the religion, art and architecture of the Khmer people, in which case you would probably be able to spend more time because you would be getting more out of it. I wish i'd spent more time learning about them before going so i would have been able to appreciate more about the meaning behind the amazing carvings and stories that cover nearly ever surface of all of their works. Even as an enthusiastic amateur i was able to appreciate it and at the same time feel sad at how much i must be missing

I know the pictures you speak of. They are all basically cleavage, shoulder and face shots. Her face is heavily made up, she is wearing a major pushup bra and the lighting is very soft.

He is a billionaire, which compensates for his physical failings. She is the billionaire's girlfriend, and her whole worth hinges on her looks. Unless she's a heiress. If she stands to inherit billions, we will all send her apologies for our unfair judgements.

I traveled to Vietnam this last summer. Facebook might be officially banned but its everywhere and we openly used it in the hostels I stayed at. I meet quite a few Vietnamese that I friended on fb. Now I have a dozen or so vietnamese fb friends.

They are also very friendly and helpful. They were actually happy when they found out I was american because they were sick of aussies and brits.
