Not all salaried employees are exempt from OT. I was salaried at my last job and still entitled to OT pay. I'm not sure exactly what the rule is, only that it exists.

I was salaried at this one job. But since I was a contractor if they wanted me there on weekends it would cost em.

Pretty much this. If her contract said she would be paid a certain amount for a certain time, and she wasn't, then she is owed money. If she is simply complaining about it being a horrible, awful, soul sucking job, well... that's pretty much assumed when you are a personal assistant to someone rich and famous.

Gaga didn't strike me as crazy, going by the complaints. More self-absorbed diva than anything else. The crazy thing is just her schtick, an act. There's no crazy reflected in her bland music, just a desire for money and fame. The truly crazy ones are revealed through their art, through their actions (Think Van Gogh) Not their silly AW costumes. The insane, disturbed people, especially the high profile ones, often live short, troubled lives. They self-medicate, with booze, with heroin, with LSD (Which has very positive benefits to schizophrenics) They commit suicide.

Their lives are tragedies. The only thing tragic about Gaga is her fanbase.

step 1: determine if a personal assistant is covered by FLSA (I don't care enough to check).
if so, proceed to step 2.
step 2: determine how many hours of overtime were worked and unpaid.
step 3: settle asap to keep plaintiff's counsel from driving up their attorney fees, which defendant will have to pay if they lose or if they settle.

So working for her for 13 months and you have 7,168 hours of unpaid overtime? That's 18.2 hours of unpaid overtime a day. Which is the amount of non-work time remaining if you work a 40 hour work week. It sounds like she is claiming that she should be paid for every hour of the day because Gaga may call her at any time.

I'm the first to get tired of famous for just being famous types: and although Lady Gaga fits that, I don't mind her so much. Kind of a mix of Madonna tactics for fame with Bjork's costumes and off-beaten image. Would like some photo graphic proof once and for all about if she is female or not... Maybe a photo spread in Penthouse instead of Playboy would settle it. More just curious than actually my first choice, even though she isn't all that bad looking IMO.

As for the lawsuit... what a scam. Hope this assistant gets the boot
