Now they can vote for funniest - it will be like a silent laugh track.

You know how old Hanna Barbera cartoons would have laugh tracks? That always bothered me, even as a kid. What studio audience is watching a cartoon? Is it supposed to be like, an audience of humans watching Scooby-Doo or whatever on a big screen? Or is it an audience of cartoons watching a cartoon, like how The Muppet Show audience consists entirely of Muppets?

When family come to visit me here in LA, I usually take them to a TV taping, so they can get that whole 'hollywood' experience out of the way. And it's there that I always encounter my nemesis- the Warm Up Guy™. Every sitcom and late night show has one, and I hate every one of them.

A silent, invisible, creepy audience.

It's a great divide really. The posters come here to post and the lurkers come to read, and there is no middle ground.

Good lord, can't you lurkers find something on the internet that's actually entertaining? I mean, out of all the stuff that's out there, THIS is where you're showing up? Poor saps.

...I'm part of the problem. :-/

I think there is. Somedays you feel like, or have time to get involved. Some days you do not.

At a recent cast party, I was voted "TFDer most likely to leave the set and fondle audience members".

*wink*

I'm generalizing. Just like irl, the people who do the most talking do the least listening.

Yeah, yesterday I had to work and I was super bored. I submitted a bunch of threads and posted all day just to stay awake. It was lot more quantity than quality. I should have just crawled under my desk and slept constanza style.

This is pretty much what I do almost every day. I wonder what would happen if I actually thought before I posted? That would be weird.

Come on, guys. Don't be shy. We bite, but in a sexy way, not a mean way.

I don't know if the rumors are true or not, but to be on the safe side don't give Jim Gordon any personal information.

So is this like some kind of Truman show shiat?

I was going to make fun of the lurkers, then I looked at my recent post count. In closing,

Pretty much this^.

You people are damned entertaining at times. Unfortunately, I picked a log in that scares most people away, so I don't get to hang out with the cool kids.

Hi TF'ers! Glad to see you poke your heads out of the CJ's on TFD once in a while! The sunlight is good for you, and hell, you gotta be chafing after all that time...

Here's to the quiet ones. The silent. The observers. The ones who dare not say a word. While some may see them as the quiet ones, we see serial killers. Because the people who are quiet enough escape notice are usually the last ones you suspect.
