Sounds like this guy got robbed. "We decided" ???

I'm not feeling the warm, human interest angle here. Maybe it's just me.

Then Sixers management decided that the would-be robber fit right into the NBA player profile, and signed him up to a contract.

It is truly sad what has become of Allen Iverson.

Lou then ordered 13 cheese burgers in 15 minutes, but only received 4

Had the driver not been Lou Williams, some poor unfortunate soul would have been robbed at gunpoint, possibly shot during the encounter... and this asshat (Williams) is cool with taking this douchebag to dinner.

Did they get a Royale with Cheese?

I was hoping for a bit more out of Mr. Williams.

Like asking, paying for the gun and taking it to the police to be destroyed (after wiping it down)...I own guns but I'm going to go with no serial number on that one...off the streets I say.

Trying to help the kid turn his life around, like a job, some shelter and people to work with him and get one less lost person off the street who thinks all they have to live for is pointing a gun at someone for a few bucks.

Instead he gets a Big Mac meal...I hope he at least got a chance to super size it.

I had a great-aunt who ran a liquor store for about forty years. Three times, she argued an armed robber into giving up, and two of them waited dutifully for the police.

My family is argumentative.

//we don't hand out the McD's, though

I call shennanigans. There is no McDonalds in Manayunk.

"There's crime everywhere," Williams told the Daily News. "I was debating whether to pull off to help the guy. The gun was already out. He did all the talking, and we came up with a solution before I could really say much. I treated him to McDonald's."

I read as:

"He recognized me as an NBA player and asked me for McDonalds instead."

This is the Fark Sports tab, so many people probably read it as:

"I'm a thug myself, and the armed robber respected that I could take him out."

I was at the Sixers @ Blazers game last night, so I am getting a kick out of these replies.

Story stops before the part where 10 minutes after eating, he probably robbed someone else at gunpoint. Only difference is he had a full stomach.

I treated my rapist to Burger King but he still ate my fish taco... >:-(
