"Dumbass" "Idiotic" "Nonsense" "Child Porn".

I don't know as I'd go so far as to say she's talentless. Though if she does have a talent, singing sure as Hell isn't it.

No. He couldn't sing "yeah yeah yeah" properly if her life depended on it. She also ruined The Beatles

If a band/artist caved to outside influences, sounds like the band might have sucked anyway.

Ahh yes, the original.

If there was ever a personitication of "self-important" that person is Yoko Ono.

Although Kanye West is making inroads towards the title.

So this is Christmas and what have you done? VS Simply having a wonderful Christmas time.

They were already heading for a breakup.

If she actually was chewing on the bones of her dead husband that would be pretty metal.

I think most of us who are younger than 50 were thinking Courtney Love. Courtney Love is the Yoko Ono for people who are younger than our grandparents.

As if it's somehow her fault people wont stop talking about her. Is she supposed to say, "Everyone go away because my late husband sold more records than me."

I thought it would be Courtney Love, too.

I adore Yoko Ono.

2011-12-27 10:32:37 AM
Yoko and Courtney are cut from the same cloth. Not the musical talent part (Courtney has some). But the Deification of their ex-husbands in outright denial of the fact that they were part of a group of similarly talented and motivated musicians.

And the idiots clapping afterwards? Jeez, enables much? just give her the cold shoulder as you would if she wasn't Mrs Lennon.

Hey, he had a double-double last night. Pretty good way to come back from a breakup.

I too was expecting Courtney Love. Say what you will about Yoko, but she was a pretty well respected artist in the avant garde circles before she hooked up with John Lennon.

Can anyone find me an article about Yoko Ono that doesn't mention John Lennon in the first three sentences? Barring that, the first paragraph?

I also instantly thought it was going to be Courtney Love.

Why are there complaints about people like Yoko Ono, Courtney Love and Joe Jackson making money off of their dead relatives but you never hear about the relatives of Elvis Presley doing the same?

2011-12-27 12:01:08 PM
I get the "smart" button. It's to replace the "this" posts.
But the "funny" button??? Is that for the "brahahahaha" posts?
I would like to see a "Troll" button and maybe a "Dick" button, instead. That would replace my "you, sir, are the biggest arsehole on the planet and if you were in the same room i'd stab you in the heart" posts

I thought about that, but threads would devolve into trolls falling
all over each other trying to get the highest number of votes and the level of discourse around here would be even worse than it usually is. That sort of thing should be discouraged, not rewarded.

A trait all "performance artists" share, regardless of their talent level.

Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf: Why are there complaints about people like Yoko Ono, Courtney Love and Joe Jackson making money off of their dead relatives but you never hear about the relatives of Elvis Presley doing the same?

That's they keyword here. OF COURSE the Elvis relatives are making bank and bank and bank and bank and bank.
But save for Lisa Marie and Priscilla Presley, I've never heard of anyone related to the King, and I've heard about these two because the first married Michael Jackson and the second was in the Naked Gun movies, never whoring themselves talking about their dad/ex-hubbie.

It's not the "making money" part that bugs people but the attention whore and riding coattails to fame parts.
