This anti-gay, anti-immigrant stance is going to destroy his chances of winning the Republican nomination.

It's crazy to me that you can live in Texas or California or one of those southwestern states and get upset at people speaking Spanish. Spanish is a language that's been spoken in those areas for centuries. It would make sense that everyone there would be bilingual.

How many topics are we going to have on this? The level of "non-issue" this issue has is worthy of an Obama paper clip story.

I agree. How many times will this story be reposted?

Until RON PAUL doesn't win a primary. If he does win a primary, expect this to be merely the trickling precursor of the mighty flood.

Ron Paul is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, and a communist, but he is not a porn star!

If the market finds value in having gay bathrooms or a spanish option on the customer service line, who is RON PAUL to say that isn't right? Why does he hate the free market?

I'm gonna have to disagree with you, Sig. Being anti-gay and anti-hispanic is not exactly frowned upon in today's GOP.

fta "Eric Dondero writes on Right Wing News that his former boss "is not all bigoted towards homosexuals" and supports their rights to do whatever they want in private. He is, however, "personally uncomfortable around homosexuals,""

See if he was a true Republican he would not support their rights since he isn't comfortable around "them".

I thought he felt it was obligatory to service the glory-hole in the bathroom and wanted to avoid that.

I don't see anything racist about the Spanish thing. I got no beef with people who speak a foreign language but if you're in the United States, you should probably also speak some basic level of English. And it's pretty rude when you're in the company of someone who does not, to solely speak a language.

Does that mean I need a basic level of the language of every country I travel to? I watched some Rick Steeves over the holiday weekend and did not realize what an ahole he was. He didnt know half the languages of the countries he visited.

This is a story from 1988, James!: RON PAUL thinks that you can get AIDS from a toilet seat?

This was in 1988, only seven years after the disease was discovered. It's fairly easy to believe that he simply wasn't aware of how it was transmitted at that point. It's easy to look back and mock him now, but there simply wasn't a lot of information on the subject back then.

That shows an incredibly naivety of our heritage. First generation immigrants rarely speak the language.

This makes an enormous, incorrect assumption about my personal heritage.

To be fair, if you have no interaction with society whatsoever, I got no problem with you speaking whatever you please. But if you send your kids to school, they're going to need to speak English. If you want a copy of your birth certificate, or you want to get your driver's license, you're going to need to speak English. If you want to drive on the roads, you need to speak English to read the road signs.

"It has gay AIDS germs." In the 1980s this thought process was still pretty common, (thanks Reagan). And while RON PAUL should know better with his medical credentials, I have my doubts as to how good a doctor he really was.

"LIBERALS ARE SCARED OF RON PAUL!!"

I wonder aloud, why that argument isn't being used by the local right-wing shills.

Ron Paul would be a bad president, but I think he'd be less bad than Romney, Gingrick, or Parry.

Next time you drive, take a look at the road signs. What's funny to me is what apparently makes sense to you is those road signs should be written in every single language on Earth. Or maybe just the major ones?

And you think there should be schools in American that teach in every single language on Earth. Or perhaps our teachers should just be mandated to speak all of them, or have appropriate translators on staff all the time?

Welcome to the United States, where as it turns out, freedom is not unlimited. Yeah, you gotta behave like everyone else. Try driving down the wrong side of the road or starting your own currency and then crying freedom to the judge, see how far that gets you.

Got it, so if I'm at the grocery store and hear someone speaking spanish I should attempt to find out where they live in order to decide if I should get upset or not.

Uh...road signs have very few actual words on them, and the few that do (like stop or yield signs) are nearly universal in shape.

LarryDan43: My argument is amazingly weak, I don't actually believe in it so I'm just going to completely make shiat up and pretend that's what you've been saying.

Neither of which are a problem at all assuming he doesn't attempt to infringe on their rights via legislation as a result of his dislike of them.

I don't care who you like or don't like, let them live their lives and don't treat them as sub-human and we're cool. This applies for all consenting adult humans and just about every behavior.
