Best Korea has a consumer sentiment index of zero, i suppose, a perfect score.

Does this story belong in the daily news? It looks like something that only an academic would care about, in some sort of IR or Econ conference paper.

Just wait for Best Korea to collapse, then Worst Korea will have a jolly time building all that brand new infrastructure and making bank off it(unless, of course, China annexes it)

Could you logically open a Best Buy in Best Korea? I think not.

Enormous-Schwanstucker: Could you logically open a Best Buy in Best Korea? I think not.

Would there be any requirement that people have money to shop there? If so, then no.

Good point. I retract my previous question.

I'm pretty sure Worst Korea wants nothing to do with Best Korea. Case in point: Germany (new window)

At the same time, there is the biggest supply of cheap labor. I think both China and South Korea will make political moves for it. Both countries could shift their low-end manufacturing there so their home companies can continue to export at good rates. I imagine that reunification will be much slower than with Germany. For one, China will want it to be a vassal territory, while South Korea will want industrialization before bringing the whole population into it social safety nets and the cost of building all that infrastructure.

It will, however, be a wonderful geopolitical struggle of the West, South Korea and Japan vs. China. It would also be interesting to see if Russia makes a play as well.

This. At least East Germany wasn't a complete shiathole like North Korea, and even then it caused some big problems. Reunification isn't going to happen easily.
