She looks like the type that would probably do very lewd things with the Ood's tentacles.

That's really ood.

Whaaaaat?

It's a website from the UK and they don't know the character is named The Doctor, not Doctor Who?

Now I know why you guys call it the Daily FAIL.

There was a storage rental place I used to go by all the time who had cardboard cutouts from ST : TOS all over their in door complex. Looked strange at night through the big glass windows with Spock staring out at the traffic.

This woman looks like's she's having a laugh doing this.

Nothing about the person should strike you as normal. Have some self respect.

It could be worse, they could be dumb enough to think "the Doctor" is his name rather than a title, which would require an inability to pass grammar school English rather than just not having seen a TV program.

You know, for all the complaining, at various times throughout the show's history, in the end credits the lead actor was credited as playing "Doctor Who".

Yes, even in the modern run.

So, technically. they're not wrong.

I like to picture all Doctor Who fans as being incredibly hot twenty-something women who wear nothing except a long scarf, and they're doing something very naughty with their sonic screwdrivers.

/I don't care if that's realistic or not. I still like to picture it.

And most if not all seasons ("series" to the British) of the classic era listed the character as "Dr Who" or "Doctor Who" in the closing credits.

The trademark to the Police Box is now actually owned by the BBC, not the Police. Those boxes were already rare and on the way out when the show started fifty years ago. No one today would ever think they could use it to call the Police.

The thing is, one of the defining factors for most hard-core fans (what the
Japanese call 'otaku', in the original sense of the word) is that they are
absolutely without any sense of irony. Especially with regards to their chosen
field of focus. I have, many times, seen an uber-fan of Show X slag off fans
of Show Y for no readily apparent reason that Show X is not Show Y, and is
therefore not worthy of any adulation in the eyes of the slagger.

I recognized a long time ago that I had such tendancies in me, and I have tried
mightily to overcome them and keep my tastes as universal as possible.

The actors play a character called Doctor Who. That's how it's been since episode one, feel free to check the credits.

The Ood in the cutout has red eyes, thus a villain.

I decided to give Doctor Who a try last week. I ran through series 5 and 6 pretty quickly. It's a silly show, but I like the characters and the writing.
