Well, I'm not an engineer, the US Military didn't want me when I was of the right age because I'm gay, and now I'm too old to serve in the US. I seriously doubt Aus wants me at this point either. I do wish, though. I'd gladly move there.

Aren't there more things in Australia that want to kill humans than in all the sandy, unpaved countries the US keeps invading? I've seen spiders and plants from there that scare me more than any native freedom fighters we are "liberating" the shiat out of.

I was under the impression that Australia is so unforgiving, it creates super-soldiers. Just like the Fremen on Arrakis or the Sardaukar on Salusa Secundus.

And yet according to TFA's comments, the truly dangerous thing is the fluoridation and vaccination in Australia, not the wildlife. Sounds like Jenny McCarthy visited Australia in the past.

In my opinion, they want overseas people for another reason. Many of the employees they currently have are affected by the side effects of fluoridation and unsafe vaccines with the outcome that 25%-35% of them are psychos or depressed and 25% have chroric fatigue or cancer, thus, they periodically need new blood from overseas to temporarily increase their cost-efficiency.

In my opinion
So, the commenter subconsciously recognizes the crazy about to spew forth is not

. That's good.
Many of the employees
Employees? Look, even the good ol' U.S. of A. still at least gives lip service to the idea that our military are heroic volunteers, and that what they do goes above and beyond doing a job to get paid.
they currently have
You don't "have" employees. You "have" a dozen eggs in your refrigerator. You "have" a sense of humor. Maybe if it's a few centuries ago, you "have" some slaves.
are affected by the side effects of fluoridation
Really? What side effects? I read Fark, for chrissake, so I know all about all the psychotic fringe hypotheses about what's killing us or making our children mutate, but I've never heard anything about fluorine in the tapwater doing anything but staving off tooth decay. What the fark?
and unsafe vaccines
Christ on a cracker. My parents' generation all have scars the size of quarter-dollar coins on their right upper arms. They got them when they were part of a mass vaccination project. An injection gun delivered a couple dozen vaccines all in one big dose. It hit them with a bunch of needles all at once, and the conditions weren't necessarily the most sanitary. They all got some ugly arm-scars for taking the vaccinations, but they also didn't get smallpox or polio or any of a dozen other horrible diseases.
If there were going to be a huge population-decimating side effect from vaccines, it would have happened decades ago, back when medical science was less advanced and society was in general still pretty goddamn afraid of contracting polio -- in which case one would rather have ended up in a grave rather than permanently living in a breathing apparatus.
So, fark you.
with the outcome that 25%-35% of them are psychos or depressed
Yeah, blame the vaccines. Easier to think that old medicine rather than modern living is the culprit. farkwit.
and 25% have chroric fatigue or cancer
Why lump those together? One of them is a symptom of a hypoactive thyroid gland and the other is a problem of genetics. And, again, if this were linked to vaccinations, then we would be dealing with a generation of older folk who are all either bedridden or dead from cancers in stead of wondering how we're going to pay for their care when old age instead of disease finally gets its grip on them.
thus, they periodically need new blood from overseas to temporarily increase their cost-efficiency
Fluoridation and vaccination happen "overseas", no matter which ocean you live near.

I did a little bit of googling, we actually do have more of a program than I thought we did. From what I can tell you have to be a legal resident with a green card to apply though. It would be nice to open it up as a route to amnesty for current illegals and as a direct path to citzenship for those considering immigrating through unofficial means.

If you have an unconditional green card, you are basically guaranteed citizenship at some point. Just a waiting game. If you want it.
Fast track citizenship for green card residents doesn't really change the game much.
My landlady is a green card resident for at least 30 years. She sucks on the welfare teat as much as any US citizen can, and doesn't have to vote or do jury duty. Asking her to apply for citizenship would be wasting her money right now.
Maybe for illegals, but right now with the wars winding down, and barring any new wars, the armed forces have been actively pushing people out. Cutting out the excess meat from the last decade.

Since Rome was brought up earlier in the thread, one of the things the Romans did right was make use of their military for public works and engineering projects when they weren't needed for war.
The US has plenty of infrastructure in need of updating but many states are cash strapped and can't afford it. Revitalize the Army Corp of Engineers by funneling recruits into it and putting them to work upgrading our bridges, railroads and highways as well as undertaking environmental cleanup projects while we are at peace. It's a win for everyone, the Army gets to maintain a standing force in case they are ever needed, infrastructure projects can be completed at a much smaller cost than hiring profit-driven private contractors, and immigrants who would otherwise end up picking produce for near slave wages as well as current citizens without money for traditional schooling will get viable job skills that can serve them after their military obligation is finished.

As someone who couldn't get any of the roles I wanted in the ADF because of "CP3" colour blindness which is acceptable for all those roles in places like the UK, France and I think the USA, I find this funny. I scored high enough on their IQ-test like thing, even without a proper education in math (half the symbols they used in the questions didn't mean a thing to me), that I had access to pretty much any job. Then they found out about that and binned all but things like band and cooking.
/I think I'd prefer the travel I've done since then to being in the army anyway.

I suspect the major difference is that the Aussies are looking to recruit trained professional soldiers whereas the Froggy Legion has a long tradition of accepting even the most degenerate scum the human race has to offer.
Murderers, thieves, robbers, rapists, livestock molesters, none of these or a plethora of other scummy types are discriminated against by the French Foreign Legion, as long as they can withstand the rigors of training and follow orders no matter how onerous they are welcome.

Thinking about it a bit, programs could easily be expanded beyond the Corps of Engineers.
The VA hospital system is overburdened, many lower and mid-income people are without healthcare, and the current hospital system contributes to outrageous costs for those who can afford health insurance.
Offer free medical school in exchange for serving for a set number of years in an expanded VA hospital system that won't just better serve our current veterans but also anyone in the community who can't afford traditional doctors free of charge. Set wages for participants in the program well below traditional hospital levels to keep costs down. With the opportunity to get the medical degree without incurring hundreds of thousands in debt I imagine that there would be no shortage of those willing to still take advantage even if it meant earning half of what private hospitals pay during the term of commitment.
Similar programs could be started for IT related fields, or just about any other industry. The military is in a unique position in that almost any skill can be useful, so why not take advantage of that by training people in those skills and then using their contracted affordable labor to better the country as a whole.
