I enjoyed Horrible Bosses, personally.

2011-12-26 02:23:44 PM
I didn't hate any of these.

I didn't watch any of them, either, but you know.

You mean over hyped movies with shaky premises are often terrible, but they get you to pay out 12 bucks a ticket every time in the hopes that Hollywood hasn't created another soul-less money-making vehicle?

2011-12-26 02:46:00 PM
Green Lantern was dumb but it was more entertaining than Captain America or Thor. Those movies existed only to exist and do nothing. At least Green Lantern had some nifty effects.

You know how I know you don't need to ever talk about movies ever again, you farking piece of stupid floating internet space?

Ha, a grown adult says he is a fan of the first Transformers movie. And he's apparently not kidding. And then he thinks other people might be interested in his other opinions on movies.

I loved Super 8.

Kind of a dick movie of TFA put a spoiler in for Adjustment Bureau. I was eventually gonna see that, maybe.

So was the alien eating the people?

Redeeming feature: The train wreck was mad cool.

I don't give a shiat what your opinion is after you write this. Get farked, and go kill yourself.

Wrong_Intentions: Kind of a dick movie of TFA put a spoiler in for Adjustment Bureau. I was eventually gonna see that, maybe.

I accidentally watched it while drunk the other week; it was a predictable rehash of fate vs free will, set to a government-like bureaucracy. Not bad, not great. I'd say the performances were just fine but the subject matter is fairly tired. Maybe I need to see it again to glean some other conclusion.

SockMonkeyHolocaust: So was the alien eating the people?

It didn't even matter. The alien was the weakest and most uninteresting part of the film.

2011-12-26 05:01:17 PM
I really liked Super 8 and Tree of Life.

2011-12-26 05:01:48 PM
Super 8 was terrible.

2011-12-26 05:04:41 PM
GAT_00: Super 8, Adjustment Bureau and In Time were all pretty good.

Also, is there a reason Wired is almost solely biatching about sci-fi movies?

In Time was good for about 45 minutes, then they decided that this concept had so many cool ideas, so lets cram all of them into the same movie with a lame Bonnie and Clyde plot and it just started to suck horribly.

2011-12-26 05:08:19 PM
I understand that "based on a story by Philip K. Dick" is Hollywood-speak for "no third act,"

...okay, that's actually a pretty great line.

shivashakti: I really liked Super 8

Me too. It was basically an old-school Spielberg movie directed by someone else.

I also liked the kids' movie that ran during the end credits.

Only things I didn't like:

-- LENS FLARE!! Cmon, JJ, give it a rest.

-- *SPOILER* oh, kiddo, you might have thought at the time that letting go of mom's locket was a good idea, but you'll regret that in a few years.

Wrong_Intentions: Kind of a dick movie of TFA put a spoiler in for Adjustment Bureau. I was eventually gonna see that, maybe.

eh, it was a surprisingly humorless take on the Philip k Dick story. It could've been great, but it was a secret chick flick.

The Green Hornet was good, but I could see why some might not like it. I think it played to an entirely different audience than the original series.

Horrible Bosses was good as well.

Super 8 wasn't bad, but I got the impression they wanted to make it the next Goonies film. It was also dark as hell the entire film, yet they still managed to throw in lense flare!

Problem being the original Goonies isn't very good.

No, seriously. There's a lot of nostalgia worship going there.

"Dark of the Moon" was easily the best Transformers movie. Not that that's saying much.

"Adjustment Bureau" was pretty good I felt.

"Horrible Bosses" was a legitimately funny movie, and Jennifer Aniston is SMOKING in it.

"Source Code" I thought was pretty good too. FTA: "They never explained what happened to the dude who's body Gyllenhaal took." If he can't figure that out, I don't know what to tell him.

2011-12-26 05:17:58 PM
I didn't hate "Super 8." I just got the feeling I'd seen it a few times already. I did like the kid who kept throwing around the term "mint," and the visible disdain on the other kids' faces when he'd say it.

Nostalgia worship? How about just "nostalgia"?

GAT_00: It wasn't the direction I would have taken it in, but it was still OK.

I really wanted to enjoy the movie, the concept was interesting, but honestly, to me the most interesting characters died in the first few reels, the second half of the movie devolved into a series of cliches that lacked any focus or real sense of dread, and, quite frankly, it was one of the only times I have ever walked out of a theater mad... simply because it failed to live up to the promise that it opened with. I just felt like there were way too many hands in the pot here.

That being said, this has been an exceedingly weak year for cinema.

2011-12-26 05:22:25 PM
I haven't seen "Horrible Bosses." But I can tell the writer here is full of shiat. It lists the 10 "most hated" movies and then says that "Horrible Bosses" has a 7.1 rating on IMDB.

2011-12-26 05:22:44 PM
FTA: "...Seth Rogen starred, produced and co-wrote the flick, but the jokes felt forced..."

Yes, that's what he does. Why is this a surprise?

FTA:"Rogen's unlikable rich-boy schlub, a character whose unrelenting narcissism came across as unpleasant rather than funny..."

Oh, it was a documentary. I see now.

2011-12-26 05:22:53 PM

Tree of Life is overrate and the story just meanders, Green Lantern was boring and the Green Hornet was just stupid. But none of these are worse than the crapfest that was Human Centipede 2, which made the first movie look like an Oscar film. Even for someone who likes bad campy movies there wasn't anything worth seeing in HC2.

I might say Melancholia was so-so. And Source Code was pretty good. It's definitely worth a rental.

Jack and Jill: This review is hard to write for me. I love Adam Sandler, but seriously?

Redeeming feature: I enjoyed Sandler's use of kids in the movie. Both Mr. Deeds and this movie do well to make you laugh at the ridiculous things these kids say on screen.

I've just been trolled hard and put away wet, and I do not like it. No sir, I do not like it at all.

2011-12-26 05:27:18 PM
Thor was terrible.

2011-12-26 05:27:55 PM
Horrible Bosses was in no way an epic comedy, but it was funny.

Source Code was fun to watch.

Adjustment Bureau was interesting and at least somewhat intriguing. I enjoyed it enough to not regret seeing it. Haven't had the urge to see it again.

Super 8 did very little for me. Puppy love invaded by aliens? I think that's what it was about. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't "Attack The Block" (my pick for Alien movie of the year)

even this was a bit disappointing. It was funny, but I thought it took itself too seriously.

How did Suckerpunch not make this list?

wow, this list is full of fail.

2011-12-26 05:38:37 PM
I thought Super 8 was kinda dumb but entertaining, Tree of Life on the other hand, while beautifully shot was, i quote myself from about 40 minutes in with the whole family watching.. "This is bullshiat"

This November, Adam Sandler sh*ts in your eyes, ears, and mouth! Whatever. You'll pay to go see it. F*ck you!

Agreed. I had to google the guy to see what else he's written.

Martin Lawrence was NOT in Undercover Brother. The writer has zero credibility.

Dr.Zom: How did Suckerpunch not make this list?

To this day I still don't know how to feel about Sucker Punch as a movie but it did pave the way to a coworker wearing Babydoll's outfit for Halloween.

Which makes it the best thing ever created.

2011-12-26 05:53:42 PM
yeah its like beating a dead horse but really a most hated movie list and Twilight isnt on it?

2011-12-26 05:55:47 PM
Was this written by a kid in senior high? The opinions are ridiculous. "You know, I sort of liked it but I didn't when I read other reviews by people who made good arguments why they didn't like it. It was the worst, but it was a little good."

2011-12-26 05:57:03 PM
chewielouie: Confabulat: Green Lantern was dumb but it was more entertaining than Captain America or Thor. Those movies existed only to exist and do nothing.

Um, no.

I agree with him on Captain America. The movie was shot to bring the character up to speed for the future Avengers movies so instead of hours of ass kicking badassary it was "here is how the character came to be, fast foward through all the cool stuff, here is how he ties in to the new movie". The movie felt like a possible trilogy trimmed down into a single movie.

2011-12-26 06:00:52 PM
Super 8 was the only movie I've ever looked forward to seeing, only to not bother finishing.

2011-12-26 06:01:11 PM
What a shiatty list.
