But being it's Philly they will instead blame the refs, the commissioner, the weather, the stock market, the Mayans, and the New York Yankees.

Do you really think Reid needs to tell a player not to fumble the ball?

Now get out there and win one for the fans don't fumble the ball.

My hometown football team, the Cowboys, got swept by the iggles and will get swept by the Giants. Still, they were there when the iggles got eliminated like corn in my morning dump, so I'm consoled.

Dallas will be lucky to score 10 points against the Giants Sunday night.

After you're swept you do realize you'll be behind the Eagles in the division standings based on the tiebreakers, right?

And the Eagles tried to make too many changes in a single short off season and it bit them in the ass.

I think if the Eagles can find a way to score more points than their opponents on a more regular basis next year, they will win more games and make the playoffs.

If the teams they play score more points than they do in a given game, they are likely to lose those games.

It's very complicated.

Not necessarily. Reid would manage to fark that up somehow.

Going by this article the Head Coach isn't really responsible for anything that happens on the field.

I'd say it's all Vince Young's fault (naming them the Dream Team, sucking when he came in to play)...but he might go off and kill himself if I do, so I'll pretend it was circumstances that couldn't be helped.

Im so disgusted with Dallas I haven't even bothered watching the last 3 games. I blame all sorts of reason for this but Im laying the brunt on garrett. He was god awful at play calling when he was under wade, I dont know why the fark they thought it would be a good idea to promote him but whatever. Guess hes here to suck for the next year or 2.

The Giants D gets lit up on a consistent basis. About the injuries, I really think you're looking too much into them. Romo's hand injury is a "bad bruise." Seven days should be enough for a full recovery. Felix Jones has generally been crap all season. I'm not sure the quality of guard Holland is, but it's never good to lose a starter on your O-Line. The one that hurts the most is Murray. He was really lighting it up this season. But again, Romo was winning games with no running game before Murray. He can win games with no running game after the injury. Now he has Miles Austin fully healthy to throw to.

As for the Giants...Eli has been regressing a bit the past month. 7 INTs in the past month, including 3 in that meltdown against the 'skins. I don't suspect we're going to see that same game we did a few weeks back when any receiver 30 yards past the LOS was wide open.

The problem is they have a moronic dog killer leading the team, which dooms them to failure.

Goddammit so much, one more game of not collapsing in the 4th and it would be in the eagles hands to qualify by beating the redskins on week 17.

typical hypocrite philly fan. they get their heart ripped out every farking year, and they "justify" it by saying: "i'm glad we beat dallas..." or "i'm glad we won the division..." or "i'm glad we got to the championship game..."

No we don't.

Also, after your team has blown 6 or 7 fourth quarter leads, at some points, it's absolutely the Coach's fault for not having his team prepared.

Championships before the Super Bowl don't count. The first Super Bowl is the first time there was a clear champion, with no other leagues competing.

I despise how alot of the media treat reid like he has 5 super bowls as a head coach, like he is the reincarnation of Lombardi or a Madden in the making. The guy has been here 3 years too long. Too stubborn to adjust to the game, that smarter then everyone else mentality is worn out.

Few years ago i said the eagles will never win a super bowl as long as reid is involved. They HAD their chances and it came down to Reids coaching blunders that prevented a super bowl win.

For years I supported Andy Reid, this year though was the breaking point. I agree that the players are just as much to blame but Reid has needed for years to be harder on his players for stupid bone headed penalties and plays. The article did forget to mention one of the stupidest moves all season which was the Ronnie Brown Fumble/Reverse Lateral on the goal line.

But, alas, I will be an Eagles fan for life even if I never live to see a championship.

I'm just glad I support a team where missing the playoffs is an outrage instead of the status quo.

Beating most of the division, letting the guys have a year to gel together, stuffing Castillo into a trunk and pushing it off a levy this offseason - imokaywiththis.jpg

I appreciate the sentiment behind defending Reid and blasting the players, but it fails on three points:

1. Reid is actually responsible for GETTING those players as he also has GM duties.
2. Players are under multi-year contracts that count toward the salary cap so it's difficult to clean house and start over in one year, while the entire coaching staff can be turned over overnight (it just costs a little $).
3. The Eagles D was where they added the most talent in the off-season and it was absolutely terrible. That's inexcusable and you can blame the D-Coordinator for making terrible schemes that failed to put his best talent in positions to maximize their abilities. Reid hired a D-Coordinator with no experience, so it's his fault.

The only reason to keep Reid would be if they can't get a good alternative. But they should make him replace some of his staff (D-Coordinator #1) as the price of keeping him.

It's all true, every word. Even though the Eagles 'had a chance' at the playoffs, they would have needed a true Comedy of Errors to allow them in, and they really didn't deserve to make it in.

It's their own fault. if they had played better, they would have made the playoffs on their own. No whining, just honesty.

Maybe next year.

"Comedy of errors"?

They just needed:
- Beat the cowboys: done.
- Beat Redskins in week 17: likely.
- Giants to beat Cowboys at NY: likely.
- Jets to beat Giants in week 16: Oh shiat you're right!
