Saw this earlier, what a bummer...last I heard the family released a description of the guy...did they not know who he was? What was he doing at the guy's party then??

2011-12-26 01:37:11 PM
When they catch the guy, they need to hold him down and use a pair of bolt cutters to take out about 6 inches of his farking spine.

2011-12-26 01:38:42 PM
Religious fanatics, sports fanatics. Same difference.

2011-12-26 01:39:33 PM
Wow does that suck. I hope they catch that guy and do terrible things to him via the justice system.

There'd have never been a homecoming party to get shot at if he hadn't been over there in the first place.

/At least he can get private medical care and not the VA-funded "this guy may or may not be a doctor but he's good enough" care.

The statistics indicate that per capita, it may have been safer to be in Iraqistan than in the United States. If you take any group of 250,000 people, you're going to lose several hundred a year to accidents, disease, etc.

Of course, that mortality rate hits 100% for the group, given sufficient time.

So a guy chose to go into the military, then was surprised when he was almost killed? Ok

Then this same guy chose to break up a fight, then was surprised when was injured? Ok

I think this guy needs to reconsider the bad choices he continually makes. No one made him go into the military and no one made him break up that fight.

Why the f*ck is someone a hero when they get paid for exactly what they signed up for?

The Star Trek conundrum. This asshole who did this is a monster, and yet I desire to become a monster in order to inflict an equally abhorrent punishment on him.

2011-12-26 01:41:55 PM
He fought for their freedom to argue over football and pull a gun.

2011-12-26 01:42:41 PM
Irony, how does it work?

2011-12-26 01:42:48 PM
I don't think he will be invited to any future parties.

2011-12-26 01:43:04 PM
Imagine what was going through that guy's mind as he stepped in to break up this fight : "shiat I GOT this, little argument over f'ball ain't nothing compared to getting shot at by a hundred screamin' Taliban..."

just goes to show you that ain't nowhere truly safe....

What kind of douchebag brings a gun to a homecoming party?

2011-12-26 01:43:23 PM
If I got hold of the guy who did that, I would tear out his esophagus through his asshole, then make him eat his bloody esophagus, then wait until he digested it and excreted it, and then make him eat it again.

Blaxabbath: There'd have never been a homecoming party to get shot at if he hadn't been over there in the first place.

Sounds like his family is the type that allows psychopath gun-wielding strangers at their party. This was happening eventually, war or not.

Besides, "We NEVER would have had all these parties if it wasn't for the war" is a pretty shiatty anti-war rally cry.

He was from San Bernardino, fighting in the Military is safer than some neighborhoods over there.

Coming on a Bicycle: I remember how 'mericans in the nineties would point to Europe and laugh for all the violence associated with soccer.

I remember how they still do. If you extrapolate on this lone incident and assume it happens once per city block on average, it looks like approximately 13 million Americans per WEEK die due to sports-related violence. What hypocrites.

I read "Vet" and was thinking a Veterinarian.....which led me to snicker about a story of my dad.

He bought, collected and amateur raced Dodge Vipers. When he got his newest one, he went to DMV to register a customized license plate. He Wanted "VETKILLA" and the lady behind the counter refused as she found it offensive to Veterans. He looked at the lady and said "Seriously? I retired from the Air Force after 20 years. I'm 1 year away from retiring from the Army with 20 years. Most would see the plates on a Viper and know immediately it's a reference to a Corvette!" Lady stood her ground and refused. He went to another DMV a few weeks later and got the plates.

//sorry to hear about the Vet in the story but it did bring back a good memory of my passed father.

No need to be sorry. So it takes you a few minutes longer than everyone else to figure stuff out. No apology is necessary from such a special little guy.

Where in the article does it say he was surprised when he was almost killed?

Again with the surprise crap. Not that you RFTA, but he had a family member involved in the fight. and most people don't shoot others in the back for breaking up fights.

I think this guy needs to reconsider the bad choices he continually makes. No one made him go into the military and no one made him break up that fight.

The suspects name was released, Ruben Jurado, along with a mugshot. For the subsection of weak trolls in here making references to "polite society" I doubt this guy was carrying legally. In regards to the other trolls, man I can't wait until Christmas break is over and you guys head back to junior high.
