Newt is certainly fat enough to be mistaken for a battleship.

Bucky Katt: Newt is certainly fat enough to be mistaken for a battleship.

There are enough legitimate complaints against Newt. Do we really have to stoop to commenting on his weight?

/No, I'm not new here.
//Been around here since Newt traded in his last wife

Why yes, yes we do.

Petty is as petty does. :-D

Gingrich, along with Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann, and Jon Huntsman, failed to meet the state's 10,000 signature requirement

Just the kind of organizational skills I want in a President.

What the hell are we supposed to do ya moron

2011-12-26 02:50:19 PM
Is this supposed to be ironic? It sounds ironic?

Virginia doesn't come into play until super Tuesday. I don't think Newt will make it that far, so this is all rather moot.

So who plays the Japanese in this analogy? Newt's own campaign staff?

Pearl harbor was an inside job obviously

Gingrich, along with Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann, and Jon Huntsman, failed to meet the state's 10,000 signature requirement

Gingrich compared being left off the ballot to Pearl Harbor.
Perry compared it to the three World Wars: I, II and oops.
Santorum compared it to the most tragic war of all time, the War on Christmas.
Bachmann compared it to the genocide of millions of Americans during the Boston Massacre.

2011-12-26 03:01:34 PM
Seriously, wtf? Is this really the best they got?

ftfa: "Newt and I agreed that the analogy is December 1941," campaign director Michael Krull said in a message posted to Facebook. "We have experienced an unexpected set-back, but we will re-group..."

Unexpected? That's a serious ignorance problem you guys have over there.

2011-12-26 03:03:32 PM
Newt's analogy would be appropriate had the Japanese contacted the United States in June or July of 1941 with a note saying "Just to let you know, we plan on bombing Pearl Harbor in early December" and sent monthly reminders right up until the actual attack. This was not a surprise--it was a screw-up and reflects a lack of seriousness on Mr. Gingrich's part. The man was as surprised by his rise in the polls as the rest of us, and in the frantic effort to convert his campaign from a 2012 book tour to an actual run for the republican nomination, little things like gathing a few signatures got lost in the sauce.

Actually I'm surprised I don't hear about his weight more often. That was the primary criticism against Chris Christie running for president.

All I ever hear about how Newt is he's supposedly this brilliant college professor "idea man." Kinda funny to see such a mental heavyweight have his campaign railroaded by something as basic as not getting enough signatures to run.

Awesome historian.

2011-12-26 03:12:21 PM
The statement isn't surprising given what a Megalomaniac Newt is. He and Donald Trump need to buy themselves some islands somewhere, so they can rule as dictators; this whole being president with a balance of powers thing isn't what he's looking for.

I can see the Iowa and NH ads now:

Newt's current wife will not be voting for him, why should you?

Or:

Newt is more incompetent than FartBongo. FartBongo was able to get on the ballot in VA, even without a BirfSertifikate.

Or:

Enough of the 11.5k sigs submitted by Newt were fradulent that he could not qualify for the ballot his home state, a higher rate of fraud that even ACORN.

2011-12-26 03:18:08 PM
Is the GOP's new motto "fark IOWA?"

Newt: fark Iowa for me not getting on the ballot! They don't matter!

The rest of the GOP: fark Iowa if they vote for Ron Paul! We'll punish them by making them not matter!

If a Republican can't get 10,000 signatures in VA, do you really think the candidate has a chance in the general election.

More proof the Teabaggers are idiots, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

FTA: "Newt and I agreed that the analogy is December 1941," campaign director Michael Krull said in a message posted to Facebook.

The analogy should be "June 1876." Just like Custer was, Newt Gingrich is an arrogant prick.

Huntsman at least probably just couldn't get 10,000 signatures. More of an unpopularity in his party problem than an actual organizational problem.

Not sure if he's a mental heavyweight, in that sense. He is mental, and a heavyweight, but...

Moot Gingrich.

Can he still sell books in Virginia, and solicit campaign contributions from residents of Virginia that can be laundered into his personal accounts?

If so, then I'm pretty sure Newt doesn't give a damn if he's on the ballot.

Gingrich, along with Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann, and Jon Huntsman, failed to meet the state's 10,000 signature requirement, leaving only Mitt Romney and Ron Paul on the ballot. There is no write-in option under state law.

I find this hilarious.

And the amphibian is a professor of HISTORY!??!?

I'd say it's more like his Midway, and he's Admiral Yamamoto: he thought he was all set to win, he figured he didn't need to worry about the opposition, and he delegated more authority than he should have to subordinates who couldn't get the job done. And now all his carriers are at the bottom of the Pacific.

And honestly, the whole lot of you farkers kneejerking to any bit of info regarding these clowns is getting pathetic. None of them will ever be elected POTUS. Stop acting like any of them have a chance and concern yourselves with real issues.

Newt looks so high in that picture. You can almost smell his brain working overtime. "Yeah, I'm really in this! I'm totally taking this seriously! It's not just a scam for me and a few other Republican losers to give the impression that there's a challenge to Mitt Romney! No, the Republican field isn't already chosen because our voters vote the brand and not whomever is appointed! Never!"

The Republican Party has spent 2011 realizing that maybe they all don't want the same thing. Now they're going to spend 2012 blowing tons of money, realizing how their little system really works, and exactly how far they've been conned in the past few decades. But I'm not counting on it. The level of stupid we're dealing with here is legendary.

Barring a last-minute change in the law. Not impossible; particularly as a former chairman of the Democratic Party of Virginia is among those calling for a law to be passed allowing such a change. Nonetheless, the political circus just had an elephant develop explosive diarrhea.

Or he really might want to win and is finding that America just isn't laying down at his feet as liberators like he thought they would. Certain Black Animals excepted, of course...

THIS. The fact that all but 2 candidates didn't make it on the ballot makes it abundantly clear that Romney and Paul are the only ones who actually want to win. The rest are just taking a dive so they can sell books and raise their speaking fees. It's the Sarah Palin Medicine Show times 5, and I say, let em fleece the rubes for all they've got.
