Still dead?

No concrete evidence....

How can you not believe "The Weasel?"
I put more credence in Jimmy the Toucan or Izzy the Nose

So he really was a pillar of the american labor movement.

Try this story again when there's evidence, rather than some guy trying to boost sales of his book.

Yep. I'll believe it when they show actual physical evidence.

Even the way he tells it screams BS.

Mr Elkind explains how, during a Teamsters conference in 1985, he was among a group of men walking from the city's Omni International when the Center came into view.

Tony Jack nodded toward the tower's base and said, 'Say good morning to Jimmy Hoffa, boys.'

I can already see what will happen. Someone will check the foundation and find nothing. Weasel (if still around) will look bewildered and say something like "but I was sure he would be there. The bad guy nodded at the foundation! And they poured concrete in 1975!"

Ah, the book is by Adrian Humphreys. He's an old friend of mine from the old BBS days. Haven't seen him in years. I set him up with his first recording studio. He wrote an award winning book about the Canadian mob years ago. Good to see hes still writing.

I thought they already made a new Giants stadium.

Old news... very old news. And way to get my hopes up, subby.

So, Jimmy Hoffa was buried in the concrete of GM Headquarters in Detroit after cheesing off the mafia?

Was the Obvious tag on Christmas break?

I mean, he vanished and all, but I thought that the idea he was offed by the mafia and his body ended up buried in a foundation or in a landfill or something was what everybody assumed.

2011-12-25 11:40:37 PM
Won't we all be red faced when he shows up after being on an extended vacation to an isolated South Pacific island with no contact with the outside world?

2011-12-25 11:41:07 PM
Break out the ground penetrating radar and prove there's a body there. Then dig it up and test the DNA. THEN I might believe you.

Wait.

What's a "union," and why is this important?

2011-12-25 11:44:22 PM
It's easy enough to check, right?

Just tear down the building and look underneath.

It's not like anybody would be bothered if you did that.

2011-12-25 11:44:51 PM
The restaurant killed Hoffa after he complained about the soup of the day.

fusillade762: Break out the ground penetrating radar and prove there's a body there. Then dig it up and test the DNA. THEN I might believe you.

Exactly right. They didn't find Hoffa, they found some guy who says he heard someone say something. I'm not saying they didn't find something, but they didn't find something.

FTA: Informant Marvin Elkind claims a mob boss insinuated

They didn't find Jimmy Hoffa. The foundations of the GM HQ have probably been sounded out electronically until you couldn't hide a toothpick under there.

What the FARK were they doing digging under the concrete in my garage?!!!!

Where is the "whateva" tag?

2011-12-25 11:51:35 PM
Don't hassle the Hoffa!

2011-12-25 11:54:53 PM
Later we're all going to find out that Mr. Ekland was just trying to do GM a favor and have the building torn down. It's the only way that he could help them out.

/Now GM can plant their crops
//Better than a Volt

Buried in the Meadowlands with the "fugghedabouddit" tag?

Much more likely he was buried in under a tree in a disused field, then the people that buried him were shot, then the people that shot the people that buried him were shot.

/Then the people that shot the people that shot the people who shot the people that buried him were shot.

I think he was ground up and fed to someone's dog(s), or would up in several cans of Alpo. The cans of food then distributed all over the country.

I found out today that my Great Grandpa probably worked for, and was killed by, Al Capone, so this amused me more than it should have.

/we're not sure yet, but other family's trying to track it down

Maybe someone should get one of those nifty ground radar thingamajigs, you know, like in countless "finding bones underground" scenarios on TV and movies, shoot that ish into the ground, see if some bones pop back onto the monitor. Presto. Clue numba one, found. You're welcome, coppers.

Not this shiat again! Thought they dug him up out of the Giants end zone.

Geraldo could do it in a live TV broadcast.

ComicBookGuy: So outright lies are being greenlit? Really?

Are you talking about Fark or just pop culture in general? Because yes.

2011-12-26 12:21:32 AM
99% chance he was killed by mafia. 1% chance he took off, started a new life and died in obscurity. If it's the mafia one, I'm sure they left no physical trace of him that could be found today.

Eirik: Won't we all be red faced when he shows up after being on an extended vacation to an isolated South Pacific island with no contact with the outside world?

Considering he'd be 98 years old, I would be pretty damn redfaced and surprised. And impressed.

2011-12-26 12:23:32 AM
So all I need to get a book deal is make a pile of outlandish claims, and then do a few interviews on TV?

Well folks, I'm here to say that robots are quietly taking over the world. And in my book I detail exactly how the take over is happening, what you need to know to survive, and how to prepare a resume in binary.
