It was...it's amazing that Obama could turn all of them into disasters of monumental proportions, and set the stage for such disasters in his time machine without anyone noticing.

Truly, history's greatest monster.

/figure, get it out of the way early.

My niece/goddaughter sent me email that she never wanted to speak to me again.
My mother passed away from pancreatic cancer. (YAY, she had time to say goodbye and plan her funeral IN DETAIL!!)
My health club of 15 years closed and I had to join the expensive one.
I fought non-stop for a year with doctors over proper dosing of my hypothyroidism.
My terminally ill, multiple-rape victim, homeless, family-less, jobless, insurance-less, hope-less friend-roommate moved out. (It was too hard to get street pain-killers in Illinois, so she moved to OR where they were cheap on the street)
My sleep was destroyed because of fluctuating thyroid levels. shudder
My job stress went to new levels.
My shrink of the last 12 months has been the best thing that has even happened to me. (taking everything one day at a time.)

This has been the worst and best year of my life.
And I would not have had it any other way.

Plan for tomorrow, live for today and have no regrets about yesterday.

/So many people who have no idea how lucky they are, complaining about the most mundane things.

I am pretty certain he is responsible for the 9/11/2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, too.

shpritz: Interesting times. And not necessarily in the good way.

Every time period has been interesting. It just blows me away that pretty much anywhere I am I can find the answer to just about anything through my telephone, without even dialing a number.

If I want to see the original video by Billy Joel for We Didn't Start The Fire because I saw it on a Fark thread, I can do that.

That's really kind of amazing.

This. The Cold War is over, almost all of man's creative work is available at my fingertips, and I can expect flying cars in my lifetime*. I/we have it good.

Yeah I had a year... That much closer to finishing my courses, but money's getting crunched though.. my fault, being a little bit of an instant gratification person and making some mistakes.... I checked the scale at my parents' place today and it was 300.0 lbs (on the dot). Fattest I've ever been. I'm in a job where once again I'm not getting what I was promised.

2012 will be another intereresting year. I plan to lose half this weight, and get my credit under control, and find a job where I don't get lied to constantly about my job's role (my boss basically refused to write up a job description). Of course I need to lose the weight to get the new job - my weight hinders my interviews because a fat person is perceived as lazy. I do not take offense at this prejudicial attitude. I just need to 'play the game', as I'm applying for a professional position.

2011-12-26 05:13:12 AM
Yes. It has been a hell of a year.

How about a magic touchscreen that requires no wires to access pretty much anything people have ever discovered or created that fits in your pocket and can work for hours at a time without recharging?

Try telling someone about smart phones being ubiquitous 50 years later in 1961 without ending up committed.

Completed the "training" portion of my program at work and am officially a full employee. Started making friends in Anchorage and getting out and doing things. Moved out of my crap apartment. Bought a condo. Started a pinball collection. Went to my sister's wedding.

Pretty darn good year.

It was a year of lies and deception.

Arab Spring - Planned and triggered by elite
nuclear disaster in Japan - Intentional
the euro zone crisis - Planned and triggered by elite
Osama bin Laden's death - Osama died years ago
Gadhafi's death - Planned by elite to trigger chaos
OWS - Planned and triggered by elite

2012 will be much worse. It's the West's turn this year.

There were really two personal highights for me - both work related. I visited the US for the first time - I was sent to a conference and I took an additional week off for a holiday. Secondly, just five weeks ago I started a new job, moving back to my home town, The job is better than my old one, it pays better and real estate is much cheaper, so in 2012 I will be buying my first house,

For my country as a whole, the earthquakes and aftershocks in Christchurch were the dominating event of the year. They have just been an emotional and economic drain. It will take a while to recover. I can't imagine how the Japanese are handling the Sendai disaster.

I live in a rent house in a neighborhood full of college kids, but I have a safe place to sleep at night.
My job doesnt pay shiat, but I love what I do.
My woman has a mean streak a mile wide, but a nice streak twice that. And she said yes!
I tore my rotator cuff and have sleep apnea, but the doctors say they can fix it.

I'm rich. It's been a good year.

2011 was amazeballs.

Plenty of paying work, dumped the old bipolar girlfriend who took me for granted, found a wonderful girl who has goals in life and doesn't consult with the voices in her head. Gained a lot of insight into my own fears and demons. Quit smoking, cut back on drinking. Grew a sweet beard.

Word.

It was great, just great.

Mom moved away, so far I can't easily visit. Dad died. Had to sell my home in a short sale, losing 10's of thou$ands, because I lost my job because it was moved to Tennessee. Oh and that Osama guy was killed. Pretty cool. Fu*k 2011.

We do not, however, have a populace that can pass a pilot's exam in great numbers when they can't even find a turn signal lever in the 2D vehicles they have now.

It's going to get worse. Just wait until the debt whiplash really hits and we get hyper inflation and or all societal safety nets collapse leading to revolt.

ALl those elderly GOP voters are going to be pissed when their socialist SS checks and Medicare reimbursements stop.

Yummy, yummy dog food.
