It's fun reading all the hate in the HufPo comments.

The guys parents are a flight medic and an aerobics instructor yet the typical response is to hate on the rich.

Good for him. Though now I'm curious to see how many more years it will be before we read about the 14 year old kid who died in the attempt to beat him but made a mistake due to lack of good judgement.

CSB: I made it to Everest Base Camp on the Tibet side earlier this year, and that's the side this kid summitted from last spring because the Nepalese refuse to allow anyone younger than 16 to attempt it (I guess the Chinese have no such qualms). Even the Tibetan guides said up front they would never agree to let their 13 year old kid up even if he expressed great maturity/skill etc for the simple reason that you lose countless brain cells going that high up even with extra oxygen. And when your brain is still growing, who knows what such damage will do long term?

As I said, great job kid, but I guess he'll find out if those concerns are valid in a few years like it or not.

I went to high school in a state where a 2 year or less age difference was legal. If I have kids I may move back to such a state before they turn teen. Well, if I have a boy.

I don't know, subby. If your family's loaded like this kid's probably is, you can probably do a LOT when you're 15.

Southern Cali.

So they probably took a home equity loan against their $750,000 ranch 3 bedroom, and the father probably makes 200K as a flight medic. Upper middle class CA is pretty much rich in 95% the rest of the US. NTTAWWT.

This bit at the end amused me: Drake declined further comment, saying the family is not seeking attention for the boy's achievement.

Those who labor under the delusion that liberals are smarter than conservatives need read no further than the HuffPo comments section in order to disabuse themselves of that notion.

=======================

When I was 17 I did a 34 year old "friends" wife, exactly twice my age.

/if I were to do it again she would have to be 102 years old
//I'll skip it
