Nah. Now if they were making sonic weapons he'd turn it into a banana grove, after the reactors went critical.

Headline: Ultrasonic screwdriver to make plastic planes safer

Article: an ultrasonic camera gun with which ramp engineers can scan CFRP airplane
Ultrasound gun shows a hidden crack

So...

Headline: grabs your attention, if you are a geek, but has little to do with the article

My brain had great difficulty parsing the top image in that article. Couldn't decide whether the clouds or the blue was the remaining tail or actual sky.

It's a sonic probe, not a screwdriver. But we all love that raggedy man too much to call it what it is.

I guess we now know who looks at a screwdriver and says "Ooh, this could be a little more sonic"?

Must have been bored or had a cabinet to put up.

Amy really twists the knife about the Brigadier at the end, albeit unknowingly.

It would be funny if the Doctor showed up once for Hanukkah and assumed the empty chair was for him.

You're thinking of Peasach (a/k/a Passover), not Hanukkah. That's OK, though; my first thought too when she mentioned the place setting was the Doctor as Elijah. But an instant later I remembered the brandy.

There was also a subtle tip-of-the-hat to Sarah Jane Smith at the end -- the TARDIS vanishing from the matronly companion's attic as she watched, just like the ends of Ten & Eleven's guest appearances on TSJA.

Kazran, trust me. It's this or go into your room and design a new kind of screwdriver. Don't make my mistakes.

The author writes about tap testing like it's the only current way of detecting barely visible damage (BVID), delaminations or disbonds, completely ignoring that the industry moved on to pulse-echo and through-transmission ultrasonic NDI decades ago. This "ultrasonic screwdriver" is nothing more than a 3D pulse-echo A-scan. Still cool though.

"Oversexed Amy Ponds" is redundant.
