(I Heart Chaos) Cool A movie starring Danny Trejo, based on Epic Beard Man may sound like another case of Hollywood being out of ideas until you actually see the trailer. I think I just tinseled a little in my pants   (iheartchaos.com) divider line 55

Actually, it's Amber Lamps, LLC. Limited Liability Companies are ridiculously easy to set up, can basically be done on a moment's notice, and are really flexible in use. LLCs can be used to establish company names for just one person (essentially functioning like a sole proprietorship) or a convenient way to combine financials and tax records for multiple organizations working together on a single project.

It's not unusual for LLCs to spring up during the production of movies anyway, so if anything this name tells me that the production staff on this film is familiar with the Epic Beard Man meme and all of its elements. I'm encouraged by this.

Well, the white guy did ask the black guy "how much to shine my shoes?"

Of course the black "kid" happened to be 50 and drunk.

It would be reaching to say he was belligerent, though. And just ridiculous to say he provoked the kid/man.

Well, if you are truly butthurt about how the white guy in real life in your opinion was the bad guy, consider in the movie, it's an ethnic minority with the positive hero role, and a group of white skinheads portraying a negative opponent role.

I already like it. This will be cool to watch in the theater.

Not exactly "ridiculous", given that Tom Slick is a bit of a racist nutjob. At the same time, it's easy to spot that he's not entirely all there, and one of the things you have to learn how to do living in the Bay Area (or any major metropolitan area) is Ignore The Crazy People. It's like dealing with a bear: the bear shouldn't be messing with your stuff, and belongs in the forest rather than your backyard. But if a bear smashes into your back yard and starts chewing on your garbage can, the smart play is not "try to slap the shiat out of the bear."

yukichigai: Actually, it's Amber Lamps, LLC.

I'm hoping it's real. I just saw that name as the studio/LLC and thought it was a quick comedy bit. I would even see that in a theater, but it'll probably go straight to streaming or DVD if it happens. Why? Because I can't believe how powerful the internet has become to shape the modern narrative. This is either a good or very, VERY bad thing.

Did they honestly change the guy who got knocked out on the bus to a white guy? Ho0ly shiat, that's such lameass Law & Order-style bullshiat. The fight got so much publicity, in part, because it was an old white guy beating up a young (looking) black guy. That's such a cop-out. There's a way to accurately reflect crime and poverty in America and not be racist (see: The Wire). Ignoring the problems of race and the inner-city won't make them just go away.

You can lose your job, get your ass sued to oblivion, and possibly go to jail for trying to discuss this honestly, so they have to switch the races around.

Indeed, and LLCs' reporting requirements make even S-corps look comparatively burdensome. I don't see any point to S-corps anymore, although they may well have some advantages in particular situations that I don't know about.

The white guy went to the front of the bus to get away from the black "kid". He did shout back that he could kick his ass. A bit provoking, nut the black guy could have just let that slide. Instead, he choose to follow the white guy (after being egged on by the coont with the camera) up to the front of the bus and threw the first punch.

sickening what Hollywood puts down our throats.

Danny Trejo is awesome at all, but did no one at the pitch meeting say, "Hold on, it takes quite a while to get a movie made, what if no one cares about Epic Beard Man by the time this is finished?"

Why even admit that there may be a problem when it's so much easier to just rewrite the roles?

You're silly.

I don't usually mind when Hollywood wants to change races (black Kingpin, etc) but race was a very important part of this video's popularity. People were excited to see a noble, old white man beat up a young black thug. If it wasn't for the below-the-surface racism of many internet users, then video would have never gone viral.
