Mrs. Croesius has cut me off...Once I finished acquiring the trinity of 1911, Revolver, and Polymer, she said no mas pistoles.

Now...maybe I can snag me a rifle...Doubt a CMMG 5.56 would fit under the tree however.

I think I'm the only person who isn't totally into and dedicated to that movie....

\then again, there are very few Christmas movies I like
\\though I like most of the Scrooge movies, especially Finney, Murray, Scott, Caine, and McDuck.
\\\I think my liking the Finney one is why I'm not big on Sims

Loved it as a kid, don't care for it anymore. I probably haven't seen it in at least 5 years.

Depends where you live I guess. When I was a kid, we would sling our .22s over our shoulder and ride our bikes out to the dump and on the first day of hunting season every truck in the HS parking lot would have guns in the rack and no one blinked an eye. In the new pussified America everyone would freak the hell out and call in SWAT,HRT, Delta Force and Chuck farking Norris if you were playing with an airsoft in your yard.

it would have to be death from a million stings, if that is even possible with a red rider.

FTFA: "FBI personal background checks, which are required before an individual can buy guns, hit an all-time high of 129,166 on Black Friday. That figure shattered the previous record of 97,848, set on Black Friday of 2008, by 32 percent."

I'm taking that as proof of Mr Obama's upcoming re-election.

These are not the same Red Ryder Carbines that we had as a kid. These are CHEAP Chinese copies that are an insult to the original's. You can get the the real ones one line but you will pay through the nose for it.

Many new shooters start out on air rifles. Let's hope this is the beginning of safe responsible firearm ownership for more Americans. A right not exercised is a right lost.

In FO2 the Red Ryder Limited Edition BB gun was a rather formidable weapon. The regular BB gun still sucked.

I have one from 1983, still in the packaging. Grandma had it in the closet of a spare bedroom. What's weird is it's the same price as they're currently going for. Even has a paper inside touting to be the same model as in that movie. Have no idea what the fark I'm gonna do with it

I've got a daisy air rifle sitting on a shelf next to me. It is great for convincing small animals that my porch isn't the place to hang out and attract a mate (damn cats). Geese aren't afraid of cars or car horns any more, but a bb gun will get them moving.

Not entirely on topic, but I have to wonder how useful those FBI background checks really are. When I purchased a gun it took approximately no time at all, yet whenever I interact with cops in any way they insist on running my ID to see if I have any warrants out and it always takes forever. I really wonder if the information the FBI check is supposed to find is even likely to be in the database.

It's different data sets. One is aggregate data, probably a specific list of people who can't buy, and the other is a giant collection of records from different sources.

That's like complaining that it takes longer to find a book at the Library of Congress compared to a small, one room local library.

Just the other dayI found that companies are making a revolver that can take a .410 shotgun shell or .45 ACP. WTF? How scared do you have to be to buy one of those? Conflicted perhaps?

You know I'm starting to think that if you weren't brought up with firearms you shouldn't be able to own one.
I know but, it's just a thought.

Nice. Sell a 1911 to some idiot who has not one finger in the trigger guard, but two at the same time.

I have never seen the whole movie, just bits that add up to maybe 15 minutes or so. Meh, besides the 2 or 3 pop references that I already know it didn't seem worth watching.
