I guess she was too busy to actually vote.

2011-12-24 12:54:11 PM
Why does she hate middle class Americans?

2011-12-24 01:08:18 PM
I'm not a Bachman fan, but I'm certain I heard interviews well before the vote where she was against it:

Was does Michelle Bachmann want to raise taxes?

2011-12-24 01:18:50 PM
This one was HR 3630, right? I always get confused about bill numbers, since news articles never seem to reference them.

But yeah, Bachmann didn't vote on it. Surprise surprise.

She could have voted against it if that was the case.

But I thought that cutting tax rates would increase revenue by, like, 1000%.

She's only against it for people who work in the US Embassy in Iran.

That's only if you cut taxes on the rich.

She was THAT much against it. So against it that she couldn't even vote on it. She was just THAT disgusted by the thought of having to give folks a minute chance to catch up a little on some bills. Better to be in debt, and more in the hole. Poor job creators, with more cash in flow, they might have to deal with increased demand, and we can't have that...

She was smart not to vote.

Now she won't be on record as voting against a tax cut.

Pretty much. And can still complain about it to the high heavens. Of course, in order to take the moral high ground, you have to actually occupy that territory first, but that's nothing ever really bothered her before...

It would ave been interesting to see what would have happened if more of her opponents were in the House or Senate.

Depends if you define "interesting" in the Chinese curse sense...

So now she's still on the record as being against the tax cut and also for letting her campaigning interfere with her actual day job.

SMRT!

She does realize that she represents a district in Minnesota, right?

Probably the great thing once the Republicans choose their nominee is that every two bit Republican candidate that has an opinion won't have it covered by the press. She needs less to focus on bashing Obama and more on why she's suitable to be President. She doesn't do a good job of getting her platform to the voters.

Should be, but what should be and what is has never really been close relations in Mrs. Bachmann's mind...

They've been infromed by Fox News that there's nothing to be outraged about.

FTA: Bachmann also touched on the wave of violence in Iraq during her Friday news conference, suggesting that President Barack Obama, a Democrat, acted too hastily in removing combat troops from the country earlier this month.

"We've also seen that the president misunderstood Iraq and the consequences of pulling our troops out right now," Bachmann said. "While we're thrilled that troops are home, that they can be with their families, we also see that this precipitous action has resulted in tremendous sectarian violence."

Hate to tell you sweetheart Obama was merely following the deal Bush signed into agreement in December of 2008.

Please, everyone knows that modern vampires sparkle.

Also, the folkloric ones were just as likely to turn to stone in sunlight or be unaffected completely as to crumble into dust. The fiery shrivelling thing is a Hollywood addition, though admittedly an awesome one.

Since they are all, in effect, sovrreign nations, its just too much work to travel between them. Also, she hasn't yet gotten around to visiting the garage of Hollywood legend John Wayne Gacy.

Well that was basically the platform of the Tea Party in 2010. However, the news story that year was the movement itself. It hasn't been until individual members have been put under the spotlight that the media noticed, "oh hey, their ideas are pretty stupid and they're pretty crazy". Something they should've noticed 2 years ago.

As an Iowan, I will be happy to see the ass end of the caucus season so all of these conservitard farkwits will scuttle off to New Hampshire and let the western half of the state get back to beating their wives and humping altar boys.

Exactly how many votes has she actually cast at work this congress? Seems that it would be easier to run against an awol congresswoman.

Didn't Boner need anonymous consent to approve this while everyone was away? So couldn't she have stopped it all by herself if she just had been at congress?

Seems pretty bad when you attack something you could of stopped by yourself.

Oh, come on man, do you want the public to be able to specifically reference legislation...

/Had Mike Enzi tell me he was unaware of legislation because I didn't use the house number, but it had been national news for weeks. He is a lying scumbag.

It does weaken the concept that Social Security is funded by a dedicated tax since the Social Security tax not being collected for the Social Security trust funds is being replaced by funds from general revenues. However, it is all being replaced so in effect the payroll tax holiday is being funded by general revenues from the Treasury and not from the Social Security trust fund.

That has to be the most insane reasoning I've ever heard. So instead of not being "on record" of voting against a tax cut, she's "on record" everywhere in the world where they've just heard or read her saying she's against the tax cut?

Let's all stand with Michele Bachmann and symbolically support her by not voting for her, then complaining about it later.

I always thought Marcus would be first.
