How can it be so dusty on a cold winter's night? Or should that be Knight?

Shouldn't have cut those onions...

I guess the kids don't watch the news.

/good for them to have their Dad back

I was going to say something snarky but that was pretty damn touching.

It seemed like the younger boy didn't quite know his father like the older boy did. I can't help but think that's going to leave a mark somewhere.

I think it was more to do with the youngest boy trying to figure out how his dad was the Green Knight. His dad was "out of context", so to speak.

There were no utensils in medieval times, hence there are no utensils AT Medieval Times. Would you like a refill on that Pepsi?

This crap isn't exactly warming the cockles of my heart anymore.
After the first 50 or so of the same video, it becomes tedious.

Why don't they show some of the ones where daddy has no arms anymore, or the ones where he's catatonic?

Daddy!

Oh, no. That would be terrible!

I'm all for reunions but these public spectacles I find manipulative and awkward for everyone involved.

Just go home and hug your damed kids for crissakes.

The older kid immediately recognised his dad and was beaming while the younger one seemed like he hardly knew him. A friendly smile to a familiar stranger.

Fark wars of aggression. I only support ones of defence.

How dumb can you be that you didn't know that it wasn't over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

As to the article, why do people like farking with kids heads so much?

Well, at least there's one Cable Guy reference in here.

If he took the kids along to the Mid-East they could've seen real Medieval times.

I think these are getting too elaborate. They're nice and heartwarming and all, but just kinda over the top, IMHO. My favorites are the ones where it's just the service member, the surprisee, and the videographer.

"Daughter, go answer the door. (tee-hee!)"
"Mom, I'm busy!"
"Go answer the door!"
"Fine (grumble)"
annoyed daughter opens door
"Daddy!"
(tears, laughter, dust in the air)

And the ones with dogs. Oh, how I love the ones where the dogs go nuts when Mom-person/Dad-person comes home.

As a retired soldier, and combat vet, all I have to say is "I'm okay with this".

No blood for Jerusalem! Pope Urban II is a murderer of the Mamluk people!

2011-12-24 02:12:31 PM
*Look of delight. Pause. "Daddy!"*

Well, I'm sobbing, as usual when I watch these.

Yay!

I went to Medieval Times, once. The King took a p*ss in the urinal next to mine.

Well, after about 100 of the "surprise" reunions all over TV the kids next door think every time the mailman shows up its their father in disguise. The mom really should have told them the truth by now.

The mailman actually is their father.
