Counting Crows actually put on a surprisingly good live show. I saw them at the Royal Albert Hall in London a few years ago and it was excellent. Second only to Weezer for the mainstream rock shows I've seen. I haven't particularly cared for any of their albums since Recovering the Satellites, though.

Also, the Crows were supposed to play here in Lincoln a couple of years ago, and then they canceled that leg of the tour to work on an album or something. They promised they'd make up all the dates they canceled, and I'm still waiting.

okay! stop right there! I grew up in Idaho so it looks like I'z gonna hafta reprezent, yo. First of all, the Nazis that were here (there was a group of about 30 of them: the "Aryan Nations"-pffft!)had thier scrawny little white asses sued off for $65 million dollars a few years back and went slithering away over to the east coast somewhere (Pennsylvania, I believe.) While they were here, they always created such a to-do that it made the national news, and Idaho was percieved as some kind of haven for nazis, which it never was. There were only a few of them, and they were chased away forever, So....come to scenic Idaho and enjoy a Nazi-free getaway. Oh, and the potato thing is wrong, too. They're actually grown in Washington state. We're famous for gems and silver and icky-sticky marijuana.

Counting Crows is a pretty good band, but their cover of "Big Yellow Taxi" is absolutely awful.

As a former resident of Idaho, the only thing there worth mentioning is the reefer (BC Bud gets trafficked through there like crazy), the mormons (Worse than Utah, I don't care how you slice it) and the computer companies in and around Boise.

Boise sucks. Too many gorgeous 19-year olds giggling on street corners at 1 AM scarfing down chorizos.

Actually, one of the reasons that Boise is a nice place is because asshat marketing companies like AOL stay the fark away from it. Why Boise is complaining about this, I sure don't know.

I've seen the Counting Crows twice, once on that "Recovering the Satellites" tour and on the "This Desert Life" tour. They were really, really good on the Satellites tour and slightly above mediocre on the Desert Life tour (whatever they were called).

Somehow though, I have outgrown the Crows and haven't listened to them in ages. I still think they are a good band, but they aren't my cup of tea these days.

Humph. I grew up in Post Falls, ID. We'd call them Boise types southerners. I dont care what anybody sez about Idaho. Sure is better than the California I live in now. I miss real people.

Salt Lake City isn't a good city, and Boise is a very poor mans Salt Lake City, therefore, Boise is gay. And the Counting Crows is also gay. Thank you.
