Or Sheriff Joe could just be a douchebag that needs to be investigated.

2011-12-23 10:07:09 AM
This.

How Sheriff Joe has not been stripped of his badge and not rotting in jail himself is beyond me.

2011-12-23 10:28:25 AM
Shouldn't that be "Aquí vienen los política"

DarwiOdrade: Shouldn't that be "Aquí vienen los política"

DEPORTED!

2011-12-23 11:03:35 AM
The man has needed to be investigated for years.

That he's been protected by the powers that be, because he delivers, is something that threatens a lot of folks. It isn't going to be easy, and the Feds are going to have to do this, because the locals won't.

Yes, because every time the US DOJ investigates a corrupt official who ignores the Constitution, it is always and only because of potential political gain.

Especially if the President is a Negro.

/Seriously, the knuckledragging racist GOP has become the clinically paranoid knuckledragging racist GOP.

2011-12-23 11:06:31 AM
The DOJ began investigating him while Bush was in office. People have been complaining about him for longer than that. But hey, whatever helps you sleep better at night.

2011-12-23 11:07:49 AM
"oh no! Sheriff Joe investigated?! EVERYBODY hisPANIC!!"

Damn you Obama and your time machine!

2011-12-23 11:09:16 AM
Obama doesn't need ploys to win Latino votes. The GOP is driving Latinos into his arms all by themselves.

2011-12-23 11:11:15 AM
The timing might be politically motivated but that dude has been a turd in the punch bowl for a while.

2011-12-23 11:11:31 AM
You ask that question as if Hispanics were going to vote mostly for Republicans had the DOJ not investigated Sheriff Joe.

2011-12-23 11:16:11 AM
Of course this has nothing to do with getting votes. Obama is above pandering for his votes.

He is better than every other politician so quit sullying his good name.

2011-12-23 11:16:23 AM
I am sorry but can i ask a legitimate question. why do people act like President Obama is not a politician, like he can't or shouldn't do what other politicians have done and continue to do.

2011-12-23 11:17:12 AM
FTFA: the Department of Justice's release of details from a three-year investigation

kinda predates obama's presidency there, eh?

2011-12-23 11:17:18 AM
I'm thinking the Hispanic vote, especially in AZ, is already a lost cause for the Republicans next November. The same goes for the "reasonable person" vote.

2011-12-23 11:17:26 AM
hubiestubert: That he's been protected by the powers that be, because he delivers, is something that threatens a lot of folks.

That is how it was in Detroit with Kilpatrick. The pressure is put on and sooner or later something will break. With Kilpatrick it was leak of text messages in a civil suit. Once that happened, the entire tapestry of corruption unraveled. It will happen with Arpaio. Some low level clerk could one day grow a conscience or, more likely, be made the scapegoat. At that point he'll have less to lose by opening up to the Feds than by crossing his boss.

He is a typical politician. But Sheriff Joe ain't. It's about damn time we had some law and order around here in Maricopa County.

2011-12-23 11:18:11 AM
It's only politically motivated in that Republicans are too chickenshiat to go after him. Even though in recent years, he has made a lot of enemies in the Maricopa County Republican Party. They know he's a racist swindler, and they don't care.

And to show how slick he is, he went back in time, seized control of the Bush administration, and had Bush's DOJ start the investigation!
The man is diabolically clever - how will we ever stop him?

Black_Lazerus: I am sorry but can i ask a legitimate question. why do people act like President Obama is not a politician, like he can't or shouldn't do what other politicians have done and continue to do.

Nobody said he wasn't. Does that mean an investigation that started during the first Administration only to be continued under the current one of a corrupt sheriff mean they're trying to capture the Hispanic vote?

2011-12-23 11:20:01 AM
Sock Ruh Tease: You ask that question as if Hispanics were going to vote mostly for Republicans had the DOJ not investigated Sheriff Joe.

And without offering anything for proof beyond speculation from interested parties.

I'm all for a good speculative story about politics, but you've gotta have something other than two otherwise unrelated facts ("Obama DOJ investigates Sherrif Joe"/"Obama is up for reelection in 2012"). Especially if you consider yourself a reputable news source (and would like to retain that image).

This one also doesn't smell right. Hasn't the Obama ICE deported eleventy brazillion more people than Bush's? If Obama was trying to "woo" Latinos, wouldn't the easiest thing to do be to stop (or slow down on) deporting Latinos?

This sounds like a "Bill Clinton killed two teens in Alabama with a train" story. Thankfully, no one died (except those people in Joe's care over the years...)

2011-12-23 11:21:38 AM
And we knew this was coming. They replaced Candy Andy with Bill the Shill for County Attorney. He isn't going to help with any of this, either.

The stupid, here. It burns.

Black_Lazerus: I am sorry but can i ask a legitimate question. why do people act like President Obama is not a politician, like he can't or shouldn't do what other politicians have done and continue to do.

Obama is a politician and there is no denying it. Your comment implies that everything a politician does has political motivations. It is pretty clear that Arpaio is a crook. Shouldn't the law enforcement community investigate crooks?

Sarah Palin's Sharia Plan: FTFA: the Department of Justice's release of details from a three-year investigation

kinda predates obama's presidency there, eh?

FTFM: investigation started in march of 2009. so i guess obama had amazing foresight. i suppose it could be but the simpler reason would be that arpaio deserved investigation, natch.

Mr. Holder, is that you? RACE CARD! The rallying cry of the ignorant since the 1980s.

Why don't we just hold the elections in Mexico to guarantee his reelection? After all it's racist that only Americans get to vote for the US President.

2011-12-23 11:32:20 AM
Joe should just claim malicious prosecution like the illegal alien with 30 kilos of coke who was penising the 11 year old girl did.

Oh this is so very true. It is so true, in fact, that I'm going to invite the Canadians to the next election to help us vote for Universal Health Care. And the Australians. And the English. And the French. And the Kenyans. And the Cubans. And the Russians. And the Chinese. But not the Dutch. F*k the Dutch.

True, but not in the way, perhaps, you believe.

SJA is a piece of human garbage who should have his ass slowly and deliberately kicked, by ass kicking artisans, back to the 17th century where he belongs. If you have true doubt of this, you probably are a piece of work like him too.

For serious, I and most of the grown ups in the room couldn't give less of a tittle WHY this dirt log is being investigated. Who the fark cares. . . just FLUSH him.

And how do the Latinos feel about Republicans? Just because Obama has low ratings does not mean they will be rushing to the (R)s.

That link is from before the GOP freakshow got fully underway, curious what his support numbers are like now.

Is the GOP doing everything in its power to reduce Hispanics to a despised, second-class citizen status a ploy to lose Hispanic votes?

/makes about as much sense

There aren't enough immature words for genitalia to describe Sheriff Joe. But this administration has broken up more immigrant families than any other in history.

Hmm...
