I'd say it's mostly overhandsomeness and razor sharp wit.

So we got drunk one New Year's Eve at George's place. It was a tiny little one bedroom they only let out to college students. Well the bathroom was in the corner, a sort of equilateral triangle of toilet, sink, and door, I suppose so the management could maximize the number of apartments on the floor. But we'd all been drinking heavily to this point, had forgotten that we ordered pizza, until it arrived, but Tillman had the money. We looked around the apartment, and didn't see him, looked at the yard, and all the way down to the quick stop, in case he was buying some cloves. That hipster douche was nowhere. Then we heard him yelling from the bathroom. George runs over, opens the door, and Tillman falls over, pants around ankles.
Apparently he'd been so drunk he passed out while taking a shiat, he must've woken up when we started screaming his name, but he'd been sitting so long his legs had fallen asleep. He was in a half-crouch leaning on the only available surface (the door) when George opened it.
Still we gave the pizza guy a $2 tip.
I don't think Tillman actually got up for the rest of the evening. He had pizza while laying down and more to drink. And he never really pulled his pants back up.
And actually that's the only Tillman story where he doesn't get belligerent while drinking.

Huh, who'd have thought that aggressive, short-fuse sober people would turn into angry drunks?

These guys deserve a Nobel Prize for this ground breaking research.
