I never understood why they didn't neuter Knut - he wasn't going to be king of the wild anyway. It may have helped with his craziness, but maybe not. Meningitis is a biatch.

It may be kinda cute now, but I can't erase the memory of reading about a polar bear attack that left a man holding his head together with his hands. Grown bears are pretty terrifying.

I saw Knut before he got sick, and he seemed a lot better adjusted than the "wild" polar bears. They were doing that neurotic pacing crap, while he was playing with toys in the water, interacting with tourists, and generally being charming.

Berlin Zoo has way too many animals in way too small enclosures, though.
