This is a ridiculous statement. How are Dennis and Frank interchangeable? How are Mac and Dee interchangeable? You don't know what the fark you're talking about.

at this point it is all just generic narcissism. look at the last episode where they finally establish that dennis isn't really and never was cool. i really think you can switch around about 80% of the story-lines among characters without any issue. obviously i still watch it and think it's better than most comedies out there, but i think it's lost a lot of focus from the first few seasons (although i will admit it's gotten better recently).

I didn't really care for her until that one episode where they hung out with her for a night, and she would go off on anyone that pissed her off.

Yeah, I would bang her too.

Shaggy_C Looks like all of that TV money is going to end up in the hands of the hospital here soon; I doubt Comedy Central provides health insurance.

I dunno, but AFTRA does('Workaholics' is under AFTRA contract)-so that's 90% of first 10K of hospitalization costs, 100% after that. They went on hiatus a month ago, maybe?

I also didn't think I'd like Workaholics, but it won me over with the first episode I saw, which was the tripping on mushrooms while camping in the office one. It seemed like it was going to be a fist bumping-frat bros type of show, but its much more of nerd-stoner type of show. And in both of those descriptions I'm referring to the fanbase it caters to, not the humor itself. The characters wish they were popular frat guys, but they are co-dependent losers with crappy jobs, who happen to drink and smoke a lot of weed.

And yeah, the first season didn't start out particularly strong, but this is the type of show that gets better each season. You can already tell they are nailing down the quirks of each character much better in the second season, and that makes the writing get better because they know how to maximize each character's role on the show.

farkingismybusiness: TyrantII: And now we know that apparently it's a documentary.

They actually live at the house it's filmed at.

Not surprised at all.

They're funny, but only because it reminds me of of some of the horribly stupid shiat that went on in college. Funny, but mind numbingly stupid.

They do turn the psychopathy and narcissism up to 10 though. That didn't hit most people until 5-10 yr post college mark.

i would agree to a point. a few years ago always sunny decided to basically make every character interchangeable (with the possible exception of charlie). that made it really boring, imho.

They really fell flat a few years ago. I think the XMas special was their crowning achievement, but they lost their way since.

The torch on FX has been past to The League. The first season was iffy, but season 2 and 3 have been really good stuff. Over the top, but somehow funny and relevant. They're doing better what Sunny used to do before they made everyone a caricature of who they played in the early seasons.

Well, that's unfortunate, though the show is terrible.

I hope he recovers fully and, y'know, thinks twice before jumping off of his goddamned roof again. Maybe grow up or something.

Besides using the wrong version of 'passed', I love The League and it has surpassed Sunny in amount of laughs (YMMV). I think they film most of the show during the haitus and then wait until a week or two before airing an episode to change out player's names on jokes because some of them are dead on. Ohh and it gives me a reason to post this:

Love, love, love this show. My friend and I still say fwi (instead of fyi) from last season. Speaking of last season, 'to catch a pedofile' was great. I said that guy will never get a job in the industry and i was totally...wrong, he's in that horrible whitney show. good for him though. about to watch '6 hours til hedonism 2' at 10:30. Woohoo!

Yep, it's almost to the point where hipsterism is cool again. I dunno, has it jumped back OVER the shark? When are we allowed to like something low brow again? Or is the new hotness all about being a foodie and enjoying New Girl while coyishly denying it?

Seems balls are in short supply nowadays.

I find Workaholics to be pretty hilarious, probably the best thing since Trailer Park Boys (my favourite comedy show ever).

it's good low brow humor, but i think what really gets me is the effort to inject cultural references from the 90s into every episode. i mean, they managed to make a reference to the movie "rookie of the year" at one point. that's pretty strong.

You know what? You're not Leonardo. You're in the Foot Clan. You're a Foot Clan member! And you're not just a member, you're Danny! You're that punk biatch Danny!

Honestly, they could totally just incorporate this injury (and footage) into an episode of the show and it'd be perfectly fine.

I find the show funny, but I am not at all surprised that that actor is a real-life idiot.

They made a reference to D.A.R.Y.L. When has that happened in the history of ever? And hell, that was mid eighties. I love the show and everything about it. A few of the the eps are better than others, but overall I haven't enjoyed a show this much in a long time.

I never would have guessed fark would hate this show. i thought you guys would love it, i think it's pretty damn funny. there are some weak episodes but when the show is on it cracks me up. maybe because i grew up in the 90's and i'm a stoner who works in an office setting i'm a little biased but i'm surprised at the hate.

I watched some of it after Tosh.0. It's better than 80% of what passes for TV comedies, but that's not saying much.

Well, that sure comes off as bitter and petty. Looks like the guy just caught Patrice when he was on his period.

Let me sum up that entire video:
"Them dang young people today, and the things they find funny, I just don't get it. So he was doing a character? I don't care, the character wasn't funny, and it caught me off guard while I was being fat and self conscious. I don't get how some kids who aren't funny can get a successful show, when everything I've ever done has been canceled. Now I'm going to go biatch about it for 8 minutes, during one of my few opportunities to get recognition amongst a wider audience."

Yeah, that was much more embarrassing for the bitter old comics. That clip seemed like some of my older friends hating on younger and more successful friends for no reason without being funny. Sad really. They don't even diss Anders for the right reasons. They don't even know him. He doesn't deadpan and he's got a hard Aan.

But instead of saying, "ok, whatever" and just going in and doing his job, he decides to throw a hissy fit on camera, then biatch about it for 8 minutes on a hackey radio talk show as if it was the biggest diss in Hollywood history, and then pass judgement on this one guy he doesn't know and has never seen, based on their forced 20 second interaction during some lame Comedy Central red carpet behind the scenes BS, just because the guy was doing a character most likely at Comedy Central's request and he wasn't informed about it.

Yep, Anders Holm is such a jerk. Just an idiot who doesn't care about anything, because he was acting so nonchalant in this one stupid interview as a character from his TV show. It's too bad Patrice couldn't get the fark over such a small, insignificant moment before he died, or maybe watch some Workaholics to see what the show is actually all about before trying to turn everyone against it.
