Impossible. McCown will get pick-sixed in this game at least once.

Fine by me. I've got Kahlil Bell going for me. I'm just hoping McClown dumps it off to Bell a lot. Wishing I was in a ppr.

If Seattle beats San Francisco on Saturday, I believe that the Packers would have the one seed locked up regardless of the outcome of Sunday's game, which means they might pull a lot of starters, so... yeah, that could get ugly for you, pal.

If it was any other team, you might be right. But, I don't see the Packers pulling their starters when the Bears are in town.

Oh, that's right - it's in Green Bay. On Christmas Day. Yeah, this is going to look like Sonny Corleone pulling up to the toll booth.

At least the dealer was smart enough to limit it to the first $1M of cars sold. It's not too hard to take out an insurance policy for that kind of thing.

Can you imagine the britches shiating that will be going on at that dealership if on Saturday they announced that Rodgers and either Jennings or Nelson were going to be out?

Dealership to offer free cars if the Bears shut out the Packers this Sunday. What could possibly go wrong?

The Packers lock up the #1 seed, Rodgers gets benched, Matt Flynn gets hurt, Da Bears offense manages not to let any of their multitude of turnovers lead to a score... seems like a pretty unlikely chain of events, but hopefully the clown was not dumb enough to not get insurance against it actually happening. It is pretty funny when that happens though.

///At least I find it funny, but I'm kind of a jerk

Against the Bears? Against the Lions, after that Thanksgiving game? Pull the starters? Are you crazy?

Besides, we have a one-game losing streak to stop and home-field to win. We don't want to go stumbling into the playoffs.

Nothing.

Absolutely NOTHING could go wrong.

First of all - you have to buy your car before the game on Sunday... and you get refunded IF the Bears pull a shutout.

Second - There's insurance for this sorta thing...

Third - There's a better chance that Aaron Rodgers spontaneously explodes than the Packers score zero points.

Nabb1: which means they might pull a lot of starters

no way, with 2 games left and a bye week before the playoffs start, no coach is going to give their starters 3 weeks off.

yeah this is a fixed marketing cost. dealership has no real monetary stake in the game

How about just giving away a Toyyoda.

Senor Spielbergo: Third - There's a better chance that Aaron Rodgers spontaneously explodes than the Packers score zero points

It wouldn't be spontaneous, but he might explode on a Peppers hit. The Packers line was just wretched last week against the Chefs.

That said, I can't fathom the Bears shutting them out, not with the comedy show that is the Bears offense without Cutler and Forte. As someone noted, there's a solid chance that the Bears offense allows points via a turnover/pick 6.

Are you thinking of 2009 (Started 14-0, benched starters, lost to NO in super bowl) or a different season? Caldwell was the coach that season.

I don't remember who made the suggestion, but coaches that want to rest starters when they have a seed locked up should play the bench in the first half, then let the starters go out and try to win the game in the second half.

See that last part that I put in bold? That needs to happen.

This team has no depth and is getting old - what does that mean, maybe a year or 2 left of good D and then nothing, bottom of the barrel. No back-up QB, no Oline, no playmakers (assuming they let Forte walk). No TE.

Urlacher, Tillman, Briggs and Peppers are all at the peak or past it - who comes in to replace them? In 3 years freaking Chris Conte might be the best defender on this team.

I think this is correct, or at least close to it... The Packers have drafted 20 of their current starters, and they are relatively young. Why do I point this out, because the Bears are old and have not had a good draft since Jerry came. The Bears are going to get their asses kicked for a long time.

The most likely scenario for the Bears shutting out the Packers is a 0-0 tie.

I have been thinking about doing something similar for my restaurant; this article just reminded me. Let's just say I want to do one of these outrageous promotions, is there a special insurance company that I contact?

Nah, just contact your normal insurance broker. It's called prize indemity insurance. Many, many insurance companies provide it, so it's pretty easy to find. It's not overly expensive either.

Zero chance of this happening...

Green Bay is going to make the Bears pay for KC's sins.

Threadjack alert:

I have M. Lynch and S. Jackson as my top 2 RB headed into my Super Bowl. They are going against SF and PIT respectively. I have M. Tolbert on bench, going against DET. Should I replace one of the two with Tolbert? Leave them both in? I am vacillating.

To be fair, I think for any Bears fan, shutting out the Packers would be worth having to give away some cars.

I'd keep them both, but that's just because I think Tolbert is risky.

That is kinda where I am. Tolbert could put up a 27 as easily as a 2. Jackson and Lynch are both pretty solid for 7-12 apiece

The worst thing that could happen for the Bears is if George McCaskey allows Jerry Angelo to elevate Tim Ruskell to the position of GM upon his retirement. If it happens, the Bears will be Matt Millen in Detroit levels of bad for the foreseeable future. Seahawks fans should know.

/and my Bears fandom will turn off like my Blackhawks fandom did from 1996-2007
//well, maybe not turn off completely, but go down low like a dimmer switch

Then his defense scores a safety with less than a minute left, and the Bears with 34-2 and he's stuck with a ton of cars.

I worked at a Ground Round while in and immediately after High School in the Northern Virgina suburbs of Washington when the Redskins were in a Super Bowl. The manager of the store had a deal that he would take 2% off the check for every point the Redskins won the game by for anyone who watched the game there.

That was the game against the Broncos. Final score: 42-10. Guests all recieved 64% off. Manager was displeased but I have no idea how Ground Round corporate reacted, if at all. But we had some very happy customers.

This has been brought to you by Cool Story, Bro Productions.
