Wayne Static's solo album is pretty good if you are a fan of Static-X. Not Wisconsin Death Trip good, but still alright.

I was laughing when I saw the "best" ones, because I thought the author was being sarcastic.

In the Takasago Army cover the person/knife actually make the character 人 which if intentional was clever.

Actually, this one's probably my favorite album cover I own that came out this year.

Checked to see if the derpy Mastodon cover made the grade, left enormously smug 'n satisfied.

I'm having a tough time with a list that actually considers Limp Triscuit to be a metal band.

Nothing particularly wrong with the Lulu cover either, there's far worse out there in terms of being cliche at this point.

New Meshuggah I believe I heard March.
Crusher Destroyer was the first thing I ever heard from Mastodon and met Brann at a bar in Chicago, pretty much back to back years ago. I hear what they're doing now and I don't "get" it. Not to take away anything from them as musicians, just not my thing.

Yeah "One" isn't bad, but the album as a whole isn't doing it for me either. "Above" is my favorite, and amazing cover art on that one as well.

I like Mastodon, but they are kinda overrated. For the last few years pretty much every metal magazine and blog have been heaping huge amounts of praise on them, acting like they are the best metal band on the planet and stuff like that. It gets old.

Mastodon is a good band, but there are a lot of metal bands I enjoy more.
