I don't know, the hot college chick whose Facebook postings are all of the "OMG, I get so loaded and hook up with ANYONE" variety will certainly get called back for a second interview. Over lunch. At a bar.

Making alleged "sentences" like this will ALSO keep you out of college.

Some employers are disqualifying people for NOT having a facebook account too. The idea being you are so disconnected you can't function well with other people, or you have something ot hide.

The only people who have benefited from Facebook are the ones who own it.

People who have a Facebook account should not be allowed to complain at all about any ramifications that come from it.

You knew going in it was a bad idea and you still did it. Facebook is the new smoking.

I figured this was coming. I don't want my boss to be my parent (or HR, for that matter). And I can socialize just fine.

Guess I'm a curiosity since I work in IT.

There's two ways to avoid this:

1.- Don't have Facebook at all

2.- If you must, don't add anyone from work, and keep all info private (as much as FB can make things private).

Except the benefit that many people just enjoy it? They easily communicate with their friends and family, even ones they wouldn't otherwise be able to keep in touch with. If you're so worried that you can't have a Facebook and keep from posting pictures of yourself doing coke or throwing up on prostitutes, maybe we're not the ones with the problem.

I have to remind my people almost monthly about putting stupid shiat up on facebook, those pics of your drunken parties? Yeah probably not something that should be up on the net with your real name attached. Even the GF is putting shiat up that is questionable and I have to tell her that as a person in upper management you need to think about it before you post, its getting to the point I may take her phone away when she's drinking.

Considering the several run-on sentences in this article, the so-called journalist who wrote the article need to find a good proof reader. And ironically, when I tried to comment on this, it turns out you need a Facebook account...

The problem is when a friend, or someone else, puts the photo and tags you. Sure, you can remove the tag, but most likely it'll go back.

People enjoy smoking too, it's also very social and was a good business thing for me as well as I made alot of contacts outside with the other smokers.

It's all about abuse, and Facebook is the same thing. The more you do it, the more it is engrained into your life the bigger problem it is going to be. You can use Facebook and then walk away, good for you - same with alot of smokers but it still got banned damn near everywhere. I am a victim of second-hand Facebook enough for it to start becoming a problem and I've never signed onto it.

There is an option to never have your name linked or marked on Facebook and make it where it doesn't shoe up in searches.

Having pictures of you drinking on facebook is fine. Having all your pictures on facebook being of you drinking is a red flag.

You can keep your FB account private. The tools to do so are deliberately hard to find, but they are there.
Only Friends can see anything, I'm not searchable on FB or google, and watch out for the little apps that tell you your lucky numbers or something....they are usually allowed to blast out your information to anyone that will listen.
