There was no indication, however, that the expert lived near the farm.

I LOL'd

I read that article in Tony Bourdain's voice.

The council justified its decision on the grounds that planning permission for the pigsty forbade "strong-smelling foods, e.g. kitchen waste."

This is bad news. For Taco Bell.

Actually, my attention was diverted to this link, also on that page:

Sandra Bullock smuggles sausage for Christmas

"On the "Tonight Show" she declined to explain how she smuggles the sausage - whether through the mail on her person - but said she has a need for a very specific type of meat for her Christmastime spread."

I lol'd

Oniony Pig Farts used to be a big deal.... but then I took an arrow to the knee.

I enjoyed the gratuitous use of "farts" in that article (as opposed to 'gaseous emissions')

Walkerhound,

I should have expected that.
Next time I'll post about pig farts.

What comes out of the back end of a pig never smells good. But dangnabit, now I want to know WHY he is feeding pigs onions!

2011-12-22 03:19:29 PM
I wonder how they taste. The pigs that is. Not the onion farts. Or something...

If you only knew how seriously Germans take their sausage. My German wife, who is from Thuringia, scoffed at Bullock's mentioning of the "Nürenberger". Apparently, Thuringia makes the best sausage....so she says. They aren't bad on the grill I don't mind telling ya. Add some tasty German beer and it's on.

This must be cruel to the pigs. Malnutrition and

eye-watering gaseous emissions
pungent porcine farts

Drei in Wekla. Marvellous.

Why must there be an argument? There is room on your plate for both, especially since Nurnbergers are wee (hence the "Drei in Wekla" someone posted.

/Damn, now I'm going to have to go to the German deli and get some Wurste!

My cousin was in a band called "Stimulus Package" which did please me immensely. I think "Oniony Pig Farts" should be an Eastern European snack food.

Somehow, I found the link listed elsewhere on TFA "Sandra Bullock smuggles sausage for Christmas" to be much more fascinating.....

They are both wrong. Dönninghaus with the house currywurst sauce are the best, there is even a song about them: Herbert Grönemeyer - Currywurst (new window)

I was into Oniony Pig Farts before they went mainstream. Yeah, that works.

The Irresponsible Captain
I want to know WHY he is feeding pigs onions!

Maybe he or another farmer nearby grows onions and wasn't able to sell the whole harvest.
Using those leftovers to feed animals beats just throwing them away.

I was wondering that too...doesn't seem like much of a diet. Granted, it doesn't say they're only being fed onions, but still.

FTA: The farmer has not been named, to protect his identity, but he is reportedly easy to find in a favourable wind.

My ex-inlaws are from Bersenbrück, near Osnabrück. I can personally attest that it smells like farm country in that region (but no worse than southwestern Indiana).

Anagrammer: What about the carbon pootprint?

There's probably a big, glowing halo around the hole those powerful poots have punched through the ozone layer.
