(Ms. Manners) Strange Japanese soccer hooligans pour into street to celebrate team's victory, then move to sidewalks when the light changes so traffic can get by. You're doing it wrong. (w. video)   (badjocks.com) divider line 24

Well, they were forced by cops with tape... so I'd say they just didn't want to get arrested.

I wonder why they didn't just stay on the sidewalk and celebrate.

There was a pretty strong police presence there though...

The Yakuza, Triads, Thai mob and Mumbai underground laugh at your pre-conceived notions.

On the other hand, growing up in Asia, I do agree there is a greater respect and pride than is often exhibited in the United States. Now 3rd generation African, Asian and European immigrants are often Americanized and not filled with the respect and culture as their forebears.

The Japanese don't generally make a party out of slicking back their mohawks, hitting up the crank pipe and cheering on their favorite thugs.

cgraves67: Japan is the new Canada?

I don't think the losing team's fans burned down half a city and rioted, eh?

Maybe the fact that Japanese criminal courts have conviction rates of nearly 100% and that Japanese prisons are honest to goodness hell holes has something to do with it.
