Who buys all these farking Christmas albums? I'd rather lose a toe than subject myself to 45 minutes of anyone doing Christmas standards, let alone someone like this trying to cram a sonic square peg into a round hole.

That's pretty much why I haven't downloaded it yet. Saw a video on it, realized it was an album of him playing his Song #12 from Purple persona and decided against it. Somehow he actually sounds better singing in his rock voice than not.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised that doesn't sound all that great. I love him.

I'm trying to decide if I should punch the monitor or vomit.

Punching vomit is rarely a good idea, so I'd go for the monitor.

That's the joke, right? You didn't really think this was a rock album, right???

I really dig the newest release from STP. Reminds me of Tiny Music in a lot of ways...

Saw STP on their first tour for Core.
How bad was it? The skinheads sat down and waited paitiently for them to leave so the pit could get started.
Scott? I've never seen anyone that messed up who wasnt actually in an emergancy room.

They seem to have improved over time though.

This is exactly what I thought of when I read this headline.

Yeah, their last album (which I believe was self-titled) was awesome. They still do a great job live too and I hope they throw out another record. Since Scott is done with Velvet Revolver and the rest of the guys seem to have run out of other singers to work with (I believe they've done that twice now) I think we might end up seeing another one in the works.

I was hoping that it would be less generic. My expectations weren't that high to begin with (I saw STP live on Labor Day weekend and I was underwhelmed. Scotty has done way too many drugs). He didn't even sound like the Scott Weiland who fronts STP.
