As long as you have some source of water, you can go a good long time without any food. Hell, Gandhi went 21 days without any food whatsoever while only allowing himself a little bit of water at the age of 74.

I'm sure I'd have found a way to keep her warm. For 5 seconds. Maybe 6.

That is exactly what I am saying.

So, let me get this straight. We can melt snow and get... WATER?

I'm glad she made it out safely. I mean that sincerely. Now, since this is Fark, on with the snark:

"Thank you for your thoughts and prayers -- they worked."

Oh, that's so great! Thanks, God! You're a good guy after a-

Weinberg disappeared less than a week after an elderly New Mexico couple took a wrong turn and got stranded on a remote forest road in eastern Arizona. They survived two winter storms over five days before the woman collapsed and died as they tried to hike to safety.

Hmm... Did no one pray for the elderly couple? Were they sinners? Was it "their time to go?" Or did God just sleep in that day?

Did she keep her hands warm by stuffing them down her pants? That is how I do it.

Honestly didn't make it past "23-year-old ASU coed" before clicking. Kind of disappointed.

Do you think she masturbated in them 10 days? I know I did, think she would want to exchange cum rags? I've had mine for well over 30 years, pretty stiff, but it works. Mom got tired of me flushing socks down the toilet. Plus there is a small rip from when the monkey got loose, but thats a whole other story.

Wow, there's a ASU student who isn't currently filming something or other in a backroom?

I GIS'd her. She's not uncute, but I can't find anything that's not a headshot.

/that's said, I'd give her a shot to the head, if you know what I mean, and I think you do.

That could have been a really funny headline.

The next day, she drove through Winslow on a paved road that turned to dirt and stopped at a fence line where her vehicle became stuck.

...was stuck in an area with more than 2 feet of snow on the ground

Why didn't she GET OUT AND WALK SOMEWHERE?

2011-12-22 12:01:50 PM
If you find yourself at the intersection of Forest 34 and Forest 100 in a snowstorm it is probably best not to stop.

2011-12-22 12:02:27 PM
Uh, why did they post two pictures of her? They are the same person right? Or is the second picture supposed to say "this is me after 10 days of eating candy bars!"?

Really! I mean, when I was a kid, I walked 15 miles in FOUR feet of snow, uphill, both ways, just to get to school.

Kids these days.

When you get lost in the woods, stay where you are.

You mean you want to stay lost?

Was the car a four on the floor? Did it stall due to vapor lock?

2011-12-22 12:07:13 PM
Good to hear about a coed who goes missing for ten days and is not later found dismembered in the woods.

2011-12-22 12:08:10 PM
Meanwhile. Thousands of other coeds manage to MacGuyver their way into not getting stranded in the first place.

By the level of MacGuyvering she did, melting snow, the others can lay claim to their successful use of a map.

Weinberg told a deputy that she left her mother's home near South 44th Street and East Ray Road in Phoenix on Dec. 11 "and was driving around with no particular destination,"

Did she eventually score the drugs she was looking for or what? Needs a follow-up

I once stood on a corner in Winslow, Arizona.

Nothing happened.

Came here to say this. Unless there's absolutely no chance anyone will notice you're gone, stay with your vehicle! Since it sounds like she wasn't geared up to go skiing or ice-climbing, she did the smartest thing she could. Although you'd think she could have charged her cell phone off the car...

2011-12-22 12:10:45 PM
Since she goes to ASU, it's surprising she even knows enough to melt snow.

2011-12-22 12:11:17 PM
So basically, she MacGuyvered herself into waiting patiently for someone to come find her.

Um, good job?

Because there's NOT A DAMN THING IN WINSLOW ARIZONA. The only people I saw in flatbed Fords where old dudes...they did stop to take a look at me, though. I felt dirty.

She wasn't lost. Her car was stuck.

Staying with the car may still have the better choice though, considering she didn't have any winter clothing with her.
