Where'd the Cheese Go?

That's a good song. Much better than the new King of Limbs remix album. Adding "skippy computer drum sounds" doesn't always make for a good song.

Okay, who left the cake out in he rain? Look, I'm not mad, just frustrated. See, it took so long to bake it, and, since my great grandma passed, I don't know that I'll ever have the recipe again.

Oh, no!

Also, this (new window) seems appropriate.

Gene and Dean see what you did there.

If only we could say the same about the rest of their work.

That unmistakable somnambulist tenor of Yorke is unmistakable.

Yes, a meme from 4Chan is a track from Radiohead. Trolled hard.

I'm torn, part of me thinks a band releasing album after album of songs that could be on the same album is lame and that they should grow and change every two albums. On the other hand it always seems to get worse when they do change.

I like Radiohead's newer stuff, but songs like this remind me of why I became a fan in the first place. I see them live a lot, and would always rather hear them play Black Star or Lucky over Mr. Magpie. If you're a hater (and I know lots show up in every Radiohead thread) do yourself a favor and see a live show. It's amazing how organic even their latest work can sound when performed live.

If that is Radiohead, which I'm not entirely convinced that it is, I'd guess it's from the earlier side of the 90's like between Pablo Honey and the Bends.

Something about the voice seems flat. And the guitar seems too simple. Can't quite put my finger on it. Of course - that could be why nobody ever heard it until now.

*sigh* A Radiohead song that

* has a part for drum kit, not a drum machine while Phil Selway taps on the hi-hat once in a while
* Yorke actually sings the words, doesn't just yelp them or sttttttttrrrrrreeeeeetttttttcccccchhhhh each word out or use that fingernails-on-the-chalkboard whine
* There's actually lyrics! not just random phrases repeated over and over
* OMG! There's an actual structure with verse - chorus - bridge instead of just a 2 chord dirge
* Guitars! Real, honest to god guitars that aren't run through 47 effects pedals to make them not sound like guitars at all

Yeah, I think Radiohead has been very poor in the studio since they made one of the greatest albums ever, OK Computer, is it that obvious?

/They're still good live, but still

I loved everything up to Hail to the Thief. Then it changed to "other people's favorite band" music. I'm not saying it's terrible, bad, wrong, etc - it's just not "mine" anymore.

/to whomever it was newly bestowed, damn you for encouraging them
