If all those super-hot Hungarian p0rn chicks find it necessary to flee the country, they should all know that I will always have a job for them here. In my pants.

The rating agencies simply ain't gonna stop rocking the boat until it's 1929 again, will they? Who has appointed or elected them anyway?

credit ratings were cut one step to BB+ from BBB-

they need to make the ratings more confusing and less obvious

Q is better than 2B
2B is better than 2A but worse than A2

2011-12-21 05:56:21 PM
So it's 2B or not 2B?

Well, I voted for them. Clearly you are not one of the privileged few who get to vote for rating boards.

This wouldn't be a problem for a country like Turkey, which could just eat itself.

Denial is the most predictable of all human responses. But, rest assured, this will be the sixth time we have destroyed it, and we have become exceedingly efficient at it.

European socialism is working well, for the United States.

Investment continues to run from Europe and into the hands of the US where it helps our economy.

No it flees to Asia because the U.S. economy is just as bad if not worse.

Besides, Hungary is not news, they're perpetually in a bad state economically. They were supposed to join the Euro back when it was first introduced and now they're saying "maybe 2017" because they just can't get their sh*t together.

Funny thing, but after the fall of communism, most of these countries took advice from American free market guru's. After the free marketeers had finished looting the place, they point the finger and say, "You guys are a bunch of poor losers."

I predict communism coming back bigger and meaner than it ever was.

Eh. i was there in 1989 right when communism was falling apart and it was pretty dismal, gray, and smelled of pollution.

i've been back multiple times since, last time in 2006... The change was fast and significant, but not all for the better.

my understanding is that there were definitely winners and losers in the changeover, and a lot of the winners were the powers in charge under communism.

Some people adapted, learned to live in a more capitalist environment and flourished.. At the same time a lot of "foreign investment" was little more than buying out native industry and supplanting it with foreign interests / products.

I'd love to travel to Hungary sometime. I guide hunting trips and we take out lots of the Hungarian 1%'ers... by their descriptions of their country - it is a paradise... but I think anyone that has a $5000 gun and an extra $15,000 for a hunting trip to Canada probably don't represent the majority of Hungarians.

Hey while you are right, do not forget that voting for people to be in charge has not worked so well lately. It is not a perfect system, even though it is the best we have seen compared to other systems. Mostly because people/corporations can buy legislation.

Yes that's why it's so easy for them to make the downgrades. They buy the debt, downgrade it and then sell it short.

That strategy would be a guaranteed loser. You don't want to own an investment as you're trashing it. After you badmouth it and drive the price down, THEN you buy it. But since you're now clued in and know better than to believe the ratings, you should load up big on Hungarian debt and just wait for the market to realize that it's been duped and for the price to shoot up. Go all in, it's a sure thing.

"Ha, Ha, Mistle Bond! Now before I kirr you by shoving framing chop stricks up your ass, I must exprain all my evil prans, thereby giving you a chance to escrape."

Drive yields up on American and European debt until default, followed by fleeing to China, who's going to burn out here in a few years or months.

Essentially, the plan now is get in while you still can, make some money, and flee for the safety of an FDIC insured bank account.

According to P.Krug Hungary's recently had an authoritarian political party get control and amend the constitution to guarantee it perpetual control.

What could go wrong?

There is a fascist streak in Hungarian politics like few European countries. They will collapse economically, then politically go further right, and become a rogue state in Europe. This is really not good.

I was there on business a couple years ago. Budapest is a great European city, but its like it has a layer of rust on it from Communism...rusting Soviet infrastructure that hasnt been replaced in twenty years.

It's called chess. It's similar to the game checkers that you play here in America in that it also has a playing surface with what you might call a "checkerboard" pattern. However, in chess, unlike in checkers, the pieces are taller and black and white instead of black and red. There are some other minor differences in the rules too, but that might be a little advanced to cover in your introduction to the game.
