Every time I see something from the tsunami, I think it looks like a tornado went through, then you pan out & see it's not a 100 yard wide path of destruction but everything is gone. Living in tornado alley is bad enough, but the damage is limited to wide strips of damage, the path of the twister. That can be scary enough for me.

How much you want to bet Haliburton bought invested in Japanese development companies before the tsunami?

Watching some of the vids of the Tsunami moving inland and farking destroying everything in its path is pretty darn impressive.

To actually have been stuck in its path would have been pretty awful though...

The slider bar ruins the effect of being able to compare the two side by side. It's stupid.

This video from the comments is infinitely more interesting (and, frankly, horrifying). It perfectly demonstrates just how low your chances of survival were, if you were caught in the path of this...

LULZ @ the MS fanboy that thinks a four-year-old Mac can't run the newest version of Flash.

It's just that whoever owns that machine hasn't upgraded their Flash, that's all. I'm on a four-year-old Mac right now and my Flash is up-to-date. I just unboxed another brand-new Mac in the office and Apple has gotten so silly about this Flash thing that it didn't even have it installed, but I was able to get it DLd and installed in under 2 minutes, so no problems.

Anywho, putting Windows on a Mac via bootcamp is like putting a Toyota Camry body on a brand-new Mercedes.

Depends on your definition of usable. I jumped the goodship MS in the XP days. While I've had some experience with Win7, I wouldn't call it much more "usable" than *shudder* vista.

Just because someone makes software for it, doesn't mean I can't get comparable software from another vendor. Though our phone system software at work does only work on windows, we just maintain a cheap-ass PC to run that software alone.

Holy shiat, the Joplin and car floating on a tsunami wave videos are pretty damn amazing (amazing bad, as in "damn, look at all the denuded trees" and "wonder if I would scream first or crap my pants first?").

Hm, it almost looks as though there was some horrible natural disaster, but the inhabitants had the money to clean up and move on with their lives.
