It's interesting that the TSA allowed an interview with the officers involved:

Check your bags dumbass or FedEx them to your destination. No reason you need a 6 inch throwing knife on a flight. I'm assuming someone tried to avoid the bag fee and now gets fun times with the federal government.

I'm glad those items were caught, don't get me wrong. But seriously, what's with the shameless back-slapping again by the TSA? This is the kind of stuff that is SUPPOSED to happen.

This raises the bar on the TSA, by its own doing. For anyone who thinks the TSA has done anything useful, think about this boasting they are making. If they made The Big Catch, you can bet your ass they would be holding a ticker-tape parade for itself.

Just a veiled attempt at the TSA trying to prove its relevance amid growing public skepticism of their true need.

Tis true, I dunno why they're making a fuss out of something that should initiate bells and whistles in any competent TSA officer.

You simply must address the issue of where do you get honest, caring compassionate Storm Troopers to do all the Trooping deemed necessary by your keepers?
Tyranny is just not workable w/o a steady supply of Troopers.

The "Chapter 2: Ninja Equipment" on the page opposite the daggers kicks over my giggle box for some reason.

I wouldn't have had issues with pat downs if they were duo-gender patdowns.

Not to mention the nasty papercut you could give someone with any of those many bound pieces of paper...

Books are much like scabbards in that respect.

Do you honestly think they should start letting people on planes with swords?!!!

Most likely, he's about 15 and bought ninja weapons off the Internet or at a mall ninja store. They were hidden in a book because his mommy wasn't supposed to know about his secret identity.

The fact that the TSA takes away "dangerous" items from people, and then let's those same people get on the plane proves that 99.9% of what they do is pointless. If the passenger wasn't dangerous after you took his ninja kit away, he wasn't dangerous before.
