Dominionists bend over backwards to forgive those who they see as "Chosen". They have an uber-Calvinist belief in predestination, in such that any act of the "Chosen" are pre-ordained by God, and therefore not sins.

There's an awful lot of Talibangelicals who are willing to take anyone as long as someone throws away the democracy and gives us the theocracy. Newt's happy to do it.

That's pretty much stating the obvious.

2011-12-21 11:01:18 AM
That's not it. He's attacking the judiciary because they can't fight back. They aren't allowed to make any comments that may make them seem biased (in any direction), so they just have to sit and take it. It's a typical bully move.

It's not canny, it's blatant and crude.

In other words, they're massive hypocrites who will give a pass to anyone who pays lip service to their brand of theocracy. Such principled people.

Hey, sounds like a good idea to me. These farking judges make insane rulings all the time. I would love to drag them before congress to explain thier reasoning behind them.

Don't you all love the 9th Ciircut Court? It gets overturned like 60%-70% of the time. What nut jobs.

I'd also like to say I never thought that, in this day and age and in this country, we'd have people actually saying these thing in front of the media.

People called me a crazy conspiracy theorist, but this stuff is right out there, it's not even in code like Huckabee was using in 2008. This isn't Jew Lizardmen at the Center of the Earth(great band name though), it's statements and policy papers put forth by people running for President.

2011-12-21 11:23:52 AM
And nine. Nine supreme court justices were given to the Dominionists, who above all desire power.

But they were all of them, deceived.

In the land of Washington, in the conference rooms of the White House, the dark lord Gingrich forged in secret a Master Judiciary. And into it he poured his hatred, his cruelty and his will to dominate all life.

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!"
He said, "Nobody loves me."
I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"
He said, "Yes."
I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?"
He said, "A Christian."
I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?"
He said, "Protestant."
I said, "Me, too! What franchise?"
He said, "Baptist."
I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?"
He said, "Northern Baptist."
I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"
He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist."
I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region."
I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?"
He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912."
I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over.

"Freedom of religion means the freedom to choose what Christian religion you want to follow. And no, papists, mormons, and jehovah's witnesses are not actually Christians."

I've actually heard this exact thing from more than 1 preacher - in sermons no less. They never seem to grasp the fact that baptists or methodists could just as easily be added to that not-christian list. Especially if one of them polygamist cultists get elected president.

I can't believe that we are sitting here actually considering Newt Gringrich is a viable candidate for president.

Wasn't anyone alive in the 90s?

The man is nothing more than a piece of morally and intellectually bankrupt trash. The fact that idiots in America are willing to overlook the many, many failures of Gingrich say a lot of very bad and very embarrassing things about us as a nation.

Well, apparently, the "revised" Gingrich is all about being an intellectual who wrote lots of books, and worked with Clinton to forge an historic budget reduction policy in th' 90s.

Nothing about that other stuff. It must be impolite or something.

No, nutter GOP members are considering him as a viable candidate for the GOP nomination.

In terms of viable meaning "likely at all to be elected President", no.

It is rather amusing that people sort of just side-step the fact that his egregious infidelities are never seriously contrasted with the fact that he tried to impeach Clinton for getting a (consensual) blowjob from an intern.

Honestly, I think one can't repeat it enough: The guy divorced his 1st (out of a running count of 3 so far) wife as she was dying in the hospital from cancer.

I'm often considered an asshole, troll, moral deviant, etc and even I consider that beyond the pale.

Really? The Supreme Court is going to overturn 60%-70% of the 13,471 cases terminated by the 9th Circuit in 2010? Or do you mean the 6,571 cases terminated on the merits? Oh, you mean of the 26 cases that got cert at the Supreme Court during the 2010 term? Of which 19 were overturned, which is 79% of those reviewed that term (as compared to 72% for all circuits combined). Or 0.14% of cases decided by the 9th Circuit during that time period. America's most dangerous nut jobs indeed.

Whereas someone like John Edwards pretty much saw the end of his career because of an infidelity.

But there's no double-standard there.
