I was a little disappointed that Scott Weiland didn't re-imagine 12 Days of Christmas, but that's probably good since his true love sent him heroin on all 12 days.

I loved Twisted Sister as a kid. My first music purchase was Stay Hungry on cassette, back in 1984. Cost me three weeks' allowance. I saw TS live in a little club in Toronto a few years back on the Twisted Christmas tour and it was an absolute blast. I've seen hundreds of shows but never had as much fun as I did that night, belting out Oh Come All Ye Faithful to the tune of We're Not Going To Take It with about 200 aging rock fans (many of whom had their young kids with them). Dee's voice is still great, and they sure don't take themselves too seriously.

Only half-backwards, but saying we were belting out Oh Come All Ye Faithful to the tune of Oh Come All Ye Faithful sounds ridiculous ;)

It seems like melodic metal is certainly not something that people are terribly interested in making anymore, I'll give you that.

Metal songs today seem more like random assemblies of riffs with no consistent melodic or rhythmic narratives than actual songs, y'know? Being *non-musical* has become the order of the day.

I do not like it, no sir.

Nothing against terrestrial radio. I worked in the biz for 10 years, and I had a passion for broadcasting. And I'm glad you do a show...b/c that hard rock/metal scene is just slowly fading to the backburner, and it sucks.

I'm slowly working on an online station, that I hopefully will start up next year, and I was tearing through my hard rock collection and I was thinking man, there is some good shiat here...too bad poorly PDed stations all fall into line, and play crap now.

Plus it'll be cool to DJ from my home studio.

I want old Nevermore back. The writing on Obsidian Conspiracy is... bad. Lazy rhymes, jarring word choices. It's like they're trying to be Rush.

Anyway. Not a random assortment of noises.

You know what we need? More artists recording toothless, mildly-inspirational songs with ten-year-old techno sounds. Songs about hypothetical parties in particular.

Failing that, every band out there needs to record their own version of "Smell Yo Dick."

you know how i know they didn't listen to at least one of these albums?

scott weiland's christmas album is on the list.

it's farking HORRIBLE.

i mean we are talking epically bad(cept for 'have yourself a merry little christmas'. he does that one actually pretty well.).

but it's by a grunge rock founder, so i guess the author's gotta suck some dick.
